Drivetrain Intercooler ???
Anytime you change the air mass volume within the air intake circuit, you change the air volume pressure, this change is detected by the temperature/pressure sensor registering a charge air pressure fault with the ECU.
AND most likely you will be bending over to pick up the soap as they say with engine problems and Mini. They are a touchy bunch with regards to aftermarket modifications.
Czar, I dropped you an email.

All the aftermarket intercoolers log a code in the ECU, this is not a code that will be detected by your OBD II reader, but it is logged and stored in the ECU as a charge air pressure fault, if for any reason your engine was to become troublesome, and BMW MINI read this stored/logged charge air pressure fault, you could have a very hard time trying to convince BMW MINI that your engine trouble is not linked to the change in the charge air pressure!
I have seen that fault for a bad turbo, or diverter valve but never an IC.
Sorry but that is NOT true. I have the MINI software, and a Friend at the dealer and personally have installed about 30 Forge FMIC's and never seen a pressure fault caused by the intercooler.
