I run open header but I am a Justacooper. It sounds better on a non-FI'd car

bro, do this for $200!

http://www.ebay.com/itm/190638579675...84.m1423.l2649

That would be just what you are looking for, only its Modular! you can turn it on / off whenever you want!

P.S. if you Cat does "go", take it to Mini. They all have a 10 year warranty!

One thing to consider...only a 5-10 hp gain MAX (most get less...) is to be hadfrom an exaust change without a header...so it is mostly done for sound. For a similar $$, you can get more hp and attract less attention from the cops, and not make your car a ticket magnet, or limit it resalability.

I'm not looking to run open headers unless my exhaust falls off and its the only way home. But my plan was to keep the stock header until I got the money to change it. But until then I was going to put 2 SLP loudmouth series 1 resonators in line after the CAT then just have 2.5" piping all the way back curved around the battery box and out the stock location. I just don't want to break the bank on an after market exhaust when I can piece one together.

There's one going around here with a straight pipe and I can guarantee you that it sounds bad from the outside perspective.
