Drivetrain 2011 Functional Hood Scoop???
Some believe that a 'Functional' scoop must be connected the engines induction system in a manner that will result in cooler and/or positive air pressure, when at speed) to the induction system. If that is not how it is or will be connected then it is RICE (Race Inspired Cosmetic Enhancement).
A hood scoop needs to scoop up colder air, and duct it into the engine. Anything else, is just a laugh.
Though, there is good use for a vent to support some sort of engine compartment cooling, but hood vent is not a hood scoop, and shouldn't pretend to be.
If it functions, it ain't "rice". I don't know about you guys, but the level of heat that POURS out of mine when the engine is stopped is enough to justify its existence. You want to see a "ricey" hood scoop? Look at the ones on the Mustangs. They are just bolted onto the top of the hood.
In response to the last post, AEM makes a ram air intake kit for a little less. Uses a triangle shape ram to direct the air from the hoodscoop directly to the filter cone.
