Drivetrain Final Drives
Final Drives
Hey guys,
I am interested in changing the final drive in my 2003 Cooper S race car, I have found one kit from the UK except it is extremely expensive.
Does anyone have any light they can shed on the final drive mystery for the wild three shaft getrag transmission? Would love some nice short gearing in this car

The 05+ trans still has too long of gears. If we had the gearing from a FG Civic Si our cars would be quite a bit quicker.
I think Quaife makes a full gear-set but it is very spendy.

I have also looked into this, all I was ever able to find was the final drives from MINISPORT in the UK. Helix gets their gears from them, and yes they cost by the gram (They must be made of gold
) MINISPORT also carrys a straight cut full gear set, and you can get them all for about $10K, but it will take A LOT to break your tranny.
Hope this helps.
