Drivetrain Retrofit liquid filled motormount
Retrofit liquid filled motormount
So, I am assuming that MINI changed from a solid block of rubber for a mount to a liquid filled one for a reason (assuming it is not because they wanted to replace them all when they leaked). Is there ant reason to retrofit one to a earlier car?
The newer version is much more problematic and MORE prone to leakage! It is such a common problem that dealers keep the part in stock.
But it's all a moot point. The mount attachments changed and the two versions are not compatible.

Actually most people don't know it, but the old style rubber mount is also filled with hydraulic oil. When the early mounts fail the oil evaporates and the mount gets shorter.
Check out the TSW mounts as replacements. We have them for both the early and the late mounts.
