Quieting down the Invidia exhaust. Adding a Hushpower?

My wife uses my mini from time to time and she complains the exhaust is too loud.
I'm thinking about getting a 12" hushpower and welding it right before the "Y", as a second resonator.

Will it work and help with lowering the volume inside the car?
Or should I use something else?

A custom exaust shop could add a resonator (or a bigger one) forward of the rear piece...kinda like where one is on the JCW/milteck/stratous.
Or you could quite it indirectly....add some sound deading material in 2 main areas....under the rear seat, and around the battery box.
Some folks were reporting that a cheap rubber doormat under the readseat worked to cut noise....so a proper product could do wonders!!

The muffler you added a link to will work but looking at the design it might take away some of the performance you gained by adding an exhaust. Here is another option; cheaper too

Here is my custom exhaust setup: custom header 4-1 (2.5"), high flow cat, hushpower II 18" (2.5"), "Y", 2x Vibrant Ultra Quiet 10" (2").

I have only good words for the Hushpower II. Before this one, I had a Vibrant Ultra Quiet resonator (same size) and it was too loud. I got my custom header + high flow cat after installing the Hushpower II resonator. With the stock mainfold + cat, Hushpower II + 2x Vibrant Ultra Quiet: the sound was very very close to a JCW exhaust.

So, Hushpower II is the way to go.

Thanks. I already have Dynamat everythere around the trunk and back seats. I helped a lot, but I guess still too loud for my wife. Sound is perfect for my taste, but what can I do

Is it still pops and burbles with your setup?

Here is a sound clip with this setup: stock manifold, stock cat, Vibrant Ultra Quiet 18" resonator, 2x Vibrant Ultra Quiet 10". It was too loud.

Here is 2 video clips with this setup: custom header 4-1, high flow cat, Hushpower II 18", 2x Vibrant Ultra Quiet. It's just perfect for me. Plus, because it's a high flow and less retriction, the pop & burble are louder but no cops bugged me yet. Sometimes (when it's really hot outside, +100°F), the pop sounds like "pam" (like a gunshot).

*EDIT: For city driving, it pops and burbles each time I change gear*

Very cool, thanks. Do you have by any chance a picture of the underside of the car with 18" hushpower in there?
