installed Alta CAI, service engine soon light
I installed the alta CAI and upon startup i got a service engine soon light. I have not yet got the code yet, but i was wondering if there was anything that i might have messed up in the install that i should check.
**Forgot to mention that i tried to start the car with one of the ECU plugs not seated. I but this is the cause, but i'd like to have a list of backup plans just in case.
Thanks,
Michael

needs more info, what year, what other mods, whats the mileage, what condition was the stock filter in?
depending on the adaptations your ecu has made, also depending on how badly your old filter was clogged, may be a lean code.... check the code and then post. modern ECUs make it pretty easy to tell whats wrong.

I had the same error when I installed a new CAI on my 2002 MCS. Because the newer intake allows for better airflow you will get a lean or rich air/fuel mixture error code. As long as you don't hear any knocking or pinging it is an easy error code to re-set. If you have a Bentley Service Manual it will detail how to clear out the error code.
