Back Pressure?
Now obviously all cars need a proper amount of back pressure to run well. I have already installed an Alta Catback and put in a 2.5inch catless midpipe but I am missing a lot of the burble and pop that I'm looking for.
The other day My car was in about 2 feet of water during a flood and it got into the resonator and muffler. I have to admit I really liked how it sounded and I want to go with a higher flow muffler and smaller resonator but how is the lack of back pressure going to affect me later? (i don't care for the alta parts and I'll cut them up only because being so low has beat them to all hell anyway)

I remember seeing a company that made a three inch dump pipe (hooked up to the turbo and went straight down, no cat) to show how much power was hidden in the exhaust and made some pretty good gains. Back pressure isn't really important in our cars
Im sure the engine was not a 1.6

This. You can run a dump tube straight out of the turbo if you like. All the pulse scavenging is done pre-turbo.
Without a tune, possibly. But that wasn't the question asked. Reducing back pressure after the turbo would increase spool and probably result in boost spikes, but only if not properly tuned.
edit: misread the AP statement... I thought you had one.

Do the turbo muff delete and replace exhaust muffler with a suppertrap. Yes you do need some back preasure or you loose some low end, even w/ the turbo. Suppertrap muffler w/ 12 disc is about right. I tried it straight pip no discs and lost a little low end, but noise was about the same as w/ the discs. Get the biggest pop off of 1st hear, loud compression sound when ever lifting with high revs, sound very nice, almost as good as my M3 w/ a Magnaflow on it. Been contemplating changing out and installng the NM cold side tube but not sure if I will gain that much. Gonna next try just blocking off the noise generator tap line and see if it helps response or boost pressure. No CEL's so far!

ive done both, youll get more spool and before my tune i gained almost 2 psi, average 1-1.5 lbs according to my old gauge so i could be wrong but there was a gain.
