Again....my post wasn't a jab at Jan. Sometimes I think that we just need to take a step back and put some things in perspective. I understand Jan is busy....so are a LOT of other people.

Looking forward to the evolution of the AP!

Yes. I am serious. Lots of people are way more busy than he is and do it. He does not have to write a book.

You have a business and you spend a ton of time on here. It can be done.

And if he is making money and is successful with his business let him hire someone to do this stuff.

errr, what are you saying?

Without even letting Jan answer this, I will speak for him... I know why Jan is busy, he's busy because he does everything himself. I completely understand. The manager I have at my other bodyshop does a great job but the bottom line is.... he doesn't do it like I would. No one ever will.

Jan is the type of person that needs to do it himself to ensure it will be done the way he wants it.

I completely get the idea of having someone help you but he's in the type of business that he can't afford for someone to do something wrong so it's easier to do himself.

If he chimes in on this, I assure you he will agree.... (I may be wrong but rarely... if you don't believe me, ask my wife0 )

So all these new features coming with the AP.... will Jan be able to tune using the AP then send us the file in the Dimsport tool format? Or are the Dimsport people not going to be able to get these new tunes?

Either way, progress is good

Hey Jan, If someone purchased the AP from Alta and then at a later date wanted you to tune their car for them what would be the cost of the tune?

252 hp - I think but what's 10 hp

but how is a JCW making 230 hp with just an intercooler without the tune

Is this at the wheels?

I think the stock auto is more impressive 171 to 228 ft-lbs and 141 to 193 hp which seem more S like - that's more than 35% Hp gain which is what a lot of us have. Best of all the low end torque doesn't suffer.

Now this is a custom tune. What about a canned tune for those of us who likely can't make it to a custom...

Still waiting on the Dimsport trade to get one of these

Jan, I am confused. Alta posts a dynopack graph of a stock MCSa with 163.6 hp stock. After the AP tune 177.6 hp.
You post a dynopack graph of 141.5 hp and after the tune 193.6.

Ignore the differences in the dynopack's initial pulls and the fact that your MCSa pulled less to begin with. Your end result is 52 hp increase !?!?! Theirs was 14 hp?!?! I do understand that their graph was their initial beta on the MCSa and they haven't updated the graph but WTF?

I wonder what the driving experience is like with your tune?

Give me some more info because I was planning on buying by Friday of this week.

Even at 163hp stock the tuned 193 hp is freaking awesome. 30+ hp increase is great.

HOLY CRAP!!! I was *this* close to pulling the trigger on the Alta AP (after months of going back and forth) and now this. Looks like I'll have to wait a bit longer to get more info from Jan.

Why is a turbo Civic listed at the top of the JCW dyno chart?

At the start of this thread you list a price of $895.

Is this the price of the Cobb AP with Cobb canned tunes or does you post quoted above mean you have nothing for sale at this time for the Cobb AP.

I can see that you did a custom dyno tune with the Cobb AP for two different Minis and is this service for sale now or not and if for sale how much for a custom dyno tune and Cobb AP

Any feedback on the way this thing is running. I'd love the extra power but it's also my daily commuter. Is it smooth and fun to drive or just a ton of power?
