Its awesome that Cobb Tuning has branched out to the MINI community. I have had an AccessPORT on every Subaru I have owned. I'm debating getting a MINI now and glad to see that I can get an AP for this one too!

Can you only get the AP through Alta? Seems like Cobb's website doesn't show any products for Mini and Alta marked up the AP about 300 bucks over what they cost for Subarus or Evos.

Last time I checked into tunes people were still having to hack/splice into the ECU and throwing codes all day. Is anyone having issues with the AP throwing codes etc or is it really a reliable 20 hp, 40 tq plug and play device?

It's the real deal. Reliable and easy. Worth every penny.

Get the intercooler too for even more torque.

There's also a WAY smaller market for MINIs than Subarus and Evos. And it seems like it took a lot more development time for someone to successfully tune the R56 ECU.

The Alta accessport tuner is awesome. I started out with stage one---huge increase in torque. No codes. And same gas mileage (09 JCW). Now I'm running Stage 3 with the Race map. Again--No codes. Driveability is incredible. No hesitation on tip-in like the stock tune. Exhaust sounds great and it's really not that loud. And the power great. Tomorrow I'm having it Dyno'd again. Also Jeff and Adam at Alta are really great to work with. The company it top notch.
