Can someone tell me the difference between a stock airbox and the JCW airbox. They look identical except for the filter. Is that the only difference? I am planning on installing a Cold Air Intake and I am undecided between a closed airbox or an open one like the Alta.

Flyinca I read your thread, but it still not answer my question about the airboxes.

 

The stock airbox has a flat paper panel filter. The JCW airbox has the round filter so it has more surface area. The air also has a tube from the round filter on the JCW to the exit of the box. The stock air box has the resonance chamber that the JCW doesn't use.
We've had many happy customers with the JCW airbox, I would put my recommendation on it.
But if you want an open airbox check out the DDM street, it's really affordable and will make just as much power as the higher priced alternative.

 

Stock JCW and Stock MCS airboxes are the same. The JCW tuning kit has the different box cover to except the round filter element.
