Anyway, based on the final price he paid I'm guessing it's not the 16815. After reading the link that Achilles posted above I'm not sure it's the 14816 either.

If Boston is baned for good we may never know. Do the Magnaflows all sound similar? I'm looking forward to one of the guys here posting a video of their 14816 after it's installed.

I'm getting one for sure, I just really like the sound Boston achieved and want to try to get that same sound on mine.

Whatever the case is I hope he isn't dead!

 

its a permenant ban cause if you look on the link i posted right under his name they posted it... it blows me y he barely ever did anything wrong that i saw of... but yeah im also getting one for sure im witing till im halfway threw my break in to buy it though so that will give me time to see how everyone elses exhaust turn out.. im really interested in which ones i should get on the site since there are such i wide veriety.. and i deff dont want to get the wrong one. that would suck

I'm sure it sounds as good as it looks. Did you remove the resonator and second cat and just go straight pipe between your DP and the new exhaust?

Sweet! I'm familiar with that setup since there's a guy in my local MINI forum that had it. I think that was actually his laser blue R56 on one of those threads, before he returned it when the lease was up.

If so, these are the exact parts he used:

He used 3" inlet version though, but I'd switch it to the 2.5" version which is the 12258:

Boston had a ress on his he said just not a really good one

 

$185 for the exhaust and a pair of tips from Performance Peddler. Not bad at all!

 

You didn't get the whole system?

 

No, just the canister and the tips. I'll have a muffler shop weld on a pipe and have them install it. It should be cheaper that way then buying it all up front.

I'm just trying to decide if I should keep the stock resonator or remove it.

I may end up having to remove the stock one if I want to have 2.5" pipe going all the way back to the DP.

 

im thinking of going with a 3" pipe to 3" inlet muffler to 2.5 outllet to 4" tips.. just in case i go with a upgraded turbo in the future

 

I removed the resonator but kept the 2nd cat. Its a 2.25" inlet to a 3.5" outlet dual.

 

Trying to make a sound clip now, not working out tooo well lol.

 

I saw a few videos on youtube with the Magnaflow that you have automan. I couldn't find any with a Mini but it sounded awesome on every car that it was mounted to. I'm anxious to hear it on a Mini!
