MTF with OS Giken LSD?

Hi all

Does anyone know what tranny fluid to use with an OS Giken LSD?

Should I just stick to Redline MTL ?

I see Giken's own fluid is a lot heavier (80W250), but since the diff is not the only thing in the transaxle I'm thinking it would probably not be very smart to use that?

Thanks

b

PS It's an 04 MCS

you can run the normal fluid. I've been running eneos for a couple years now and like it.

I would stick to the Giken fluid because it is specifically designed for the clutch-type LSD. If you go with anything else as far as fluid you will get clunking when cold and other sounds.

LSDs have different fluid needs because of the clutch packs. Friction modifiers are typically added, without which they have problems engaging.

The OS Giken Diff does not use friction modifyers. Use normal fluid, their fluid is more for RWD cars inwhich the diff sits int he pumpkin in the back.

Thanks - you all hit on the reason I asked the question:

This LSD needs the different fluids, and if this was a RWD car with a dedicated pumpkin I would use that fluid without a 2nd thought.

But on our cars the LSD shares the transaxle with the transmission. So these components share the same lube.

The question really is: If I use the OS Giken fluid will it be bad for the transmission?
