Boom!

Had been driving my 04' MCS at a high rate of speed for at least 6 miles (6600 rpm +). When I let off the engine immedietly had a sick sound to it. It was considereably down on power, and had a very sick sound as well. Looked under the hood and saw all plugs were in place, (having shot a plug out before) so am now worried that I A. floated a valve or B. bent a rod. She has a revolution head on her along with all her other mods. I'm taking her in tomorrow and am curious what could have happened and what head or internals you all might think she made need.

When you fired her back up, did the power seem to return? I'm wondering if you went into limp mode. For a while, inwas having troubles in the upper rpm and higher rate of speed. I'd throw a code and go into limp mode. I switched gas and most of my problems went away.

What kinda cooling have you got ?? It sounds like a piston / pistons----minis ARE kinda "infamous" that way & w /jans head etc a water to air setup would be "proper" otherwise "weird sounds inside the goldmine !!"

That sounds more head valve related to me. If you burned a valve or cracked a valve seat the engine would continue to run but poorly and low on power.

Won't be able to get her into the shop till next week. What cam's would you recommend? I WAS all top end power and would like some meat in the middle. Checked my GPS after which said we hit 155. Got to love the 02-04 gearing.

Cam?? There are a few GREAT intermidiate cams out there ( finally) that build solid torqure and HP starting a lot sooner than "ALL the topend cams".. The power is usually up to the max of 7200-7300 revs. But the bottom and MID rocks!!

Hope this helps..
