thread "straightening"

Just a "quickie"------this thread WAS started as finding out IF anyone had used these guys ( ais ) The "thought " / thread was JUST to cool things not to "fool things". This WAS WAYYYY "hashed out" this time last year. We know its NOT an aquamist---it was NEVER thought to BE one---just an inexpensive way to BE COOL !! For SURE you CAN tune for "fuel"--this is ONLY meant to be an inexpensive /safe (meth?) set-up to help the I.C. & lil eaton increase their capabilities which in turn will increase overall performance as it should (cheaply)------we'll see

CONTACT !!

Okay Men & "Film at 5"and all that !! Just rec'd a call from "Rodney" at A.I.S. and (thankfully) as I hoped the "non response" experienced by a few of us IS due to the fact that they're just a small outfit, tryin to do quality "satisfaction gntd' " work; and nothing more !!So I feel better (& my $$) and WILL update all as soon as possible. My system "should" be here by the end of this week(4/2) Then again-----this IS Oregon!! I'll get it workin asap and off to the dyno which is another "cool thing" as I was contacted by an outfit that HAS a dyna jet only about 75 mi away !! So if I make it there w/o being handcuffed and theres GOOD weather---I "should" have a report by mid month easily !!? If you want to talk to them-just give-em time I guess----they'll get back. They REALLY SHOULD be in Oregon instead of Utah-----Nobody's in a hurry here (especially the p.o.)

Fishhead from the pics on the site the quality looks very good.
I like the idea of the tank with the self contained pump - should make the install a breeze...make sure you post some pics up when you get it done

lights ,camera--action/SIZE!!

Hey Gary : The Physical size of the tank in relation to the storage area w/ rear seat delete, as with boats (all my life) every sq in of room that you occupy in that small of an area is VERY critical & as we all know IS all we've got(nuthin). So even w/ my experience in pre-position lay-out as to overall size and equipment "make-up" this beutiful tank looks to take up half agin it's own (physical) size just in the make up area cuz of the pump being pre-positioned IN the tank thus giving you a route that "they" determined for you instead of being able to pick a route on your own. Don't get me wrong--it's NICE its just that the routing of the actual fuel line & elec connects HAVE to come from one direction & that direc only. the pump is permanently pre-positioned in a recess under the tank and the tank MUST lay horizontally in relation to the filler plug / cap asbly. I had figured with its overall size and my anti social behavior that I could get it in right behind the passenger seat on the floor pan where a rear passenger would normally have thier feet; that ain't gonna happen--pump maintenace/connects/access just won't go as ANY future trouble would be in-accessable--so back up into the cargo area we go!! D-MAN--Thanks for the "courage builder"I'm a GO guy NOT a SHOW guy& THEIR pics--well---

clarity

D-MAN / BE-BOP : I think my last explanation was about as clear as mud. (no sleep) I guess what I was tryin to say is that with an older style tank you could choose where to put the outlet from the tank to the pump.Remote pump locale & The MOST convienient for your situation. This set-up is predetermined by somebody else; maybe its just me but I know in my situation I personaly could have and would have wanted the connections ( now BOTH elec & fuel) somewhere MUCH more workable for tank placement. D-MAN --Yes you ARE right as far as time goes cuz they've already done 30% or so of the job-------but that time I would gladly trade for my own choice of location. Problem IS (I guess) I was a Plumber / Plbg Contractor for a VERY long time so this type of stuff is a gimme as far as I go. It will come out GREAT--just NOT the way I planned and they DID do a VERY nice job bldg the tank / pump combo-I AM HAPPY

I just took a look at the A.I.S system. I'm a little confused. Are you sure these guys didn't buy the remaining stock of the original CoolingMist VARI Cool kit??

I put this "exact system" in my car two years ago. Coolingmist has since dropped this kit with VERI cool controller (the one A.I.S uses) and has moved to the VERI 2 controller. Looks like a re-badged, old model coolingmist system to me.

I thought that system was great and used it up until 9 months ago when I switched to the Aquamist kit. The difference was amazingly better . If I was you I would pass.

That was there old kit.... you will find that several companies used the coolingmist style tanks

Their new kit as Paul mentioned uses a custom Jaz fuel cell - high quality bit of kit

Looks like they used the coolingmist controller as well as the tank on that old system.

The new system looks like a dumbed down version of the old system. Seems like they are promoting the cool tank. All they talk about is the tank. Does it use a controller at all?

The WORST (wish I new how to make REALLY BIGG LETTERS) The "Owner / designer / guru"~~"rodney is a JERK" (help~~~need them BIG letters) NO SUPPORT~~~~~~~~~~~NONE !! UN--FRIGGINBELIEVABLE !!! ABSOLUTE POISON !! On the "bright side as earlier mentioned ~~ALL these parts are basically THE SAME so therefore INTERCHANGEABLE !!! which IS cool!! Thats ALL folks. OBEY

D-man, You can tune with boost based but with a Supercharged car, you want IDC for consistent tuning. I LOVE my Aquamist system. I cannot live without it.

yes, I changed pistons to a higher compression, ported my head a little bigger to match jans header and went from a 15% and a 2% crank to a 10% sc pulley and stock crank. I did this all at the same time so I don't have a methanol dyno sheet only. It's posted somewhere here at went from 217whp 178tq to 235 whp and 186 tq. With only a 10%. I just put the 2% crank back on which equates to like a 14%. I think it should easily put down 250+ on the dyno. I may not retune it after the crank pulley because the methanol if forgiving and it runs great.

I notice a few of you guys are in the Northwest...where'd you get your tune?
I'm leaning towards a Mynes tune and there's talk he may do a tune in Eugene if there's enough takers. I'm running a Devils Own and so far so good but I'm just starting on the mods to take the car to a higher whp.
