Did the previous owner have gauges in it. Oil pressure gauge line?

Oil pressure line for sure. Looks like there's a boost/vacuum gauge line there too.

Clean that air filter before the spring driving season Jirsty!

Looks like either a NOS line, or a line for a fire system to spray halon like in the race car.

Jeremy
the filter was cleaned 2 days ago.
haha.
it just doesnt look it I suppose, even though it would if you saw how it looked before.

and yeah, that is the Boost gauge line near it.
I do have a boost gauge,
however I don't have an oil pressure gauge.

But,
how would it be an oil pressure?
its not linked to oil at all.. or is it?

I could see how it could be NOS or something because the end looks like a sprayer,
and that it would be spraying on the CAI
but is that literally a possability?
would NOS damage the engine?

More info if anyone has it! I am curious about this thing haha.

Looks more like for NOS than for oil temp or pressure.

Previous owner probably had system removed and didn't remove everything.

It would probably have to be a little longer to be an oil pressure line--it would have to reach down to the sender under the headers. See if you can follow the braided line back past the firewall. If you can, you're probably looking at naws.

The easiest thing to do would be to contact the previous owner. I bet you've tried that though Jirsty.

You could look for an input source for the NOS nozzle/fogger and other attachment points for NOS components in engine bay(could it be a CO2 sprayer supply line for the intercooler???).

Finally, did you put your exhaust manifold heat shiel back on too Jirsty?

So it may be nos?
Does nos damage a mini cooper engine?
and doesn't nos have some sort of switch to start and stop it?
or could he have removed that too?

Sorry your heat shield that bolts to cylinder head and covers your stock exhaust manifold. It's missing in one of your photos.

Picture?
Because that is all the heatshield I have right there.
It has been running like that for a while, with no problems.
I don't see any extra heat shield on other engines I have looked at, since you have said this, enlighten me with a picture please =]

Hm, yeah, I don't have one of those, haha.

I can't really see it in other people minis when I look at pictures of their engines..
Maybe I will buy one before summer, $34

The green thing is like.. a disk at the bottom so it sprays mist instead of spraying like a stream, if you get what I mean.

I can blow through this thing, btw.

Cheap mans meth injection....maybe. that's. An odd one for sure, but if it were n2o I think there would be more evidence of such. (Lines, switch holes, bottle bracket holes, etc...)

GL w/ the search, and fyi small shots of n2o won't harm the mini motor, especially if outside of the filter.
