INTAKE HELP!

Hello, i have a 2004 MCS and im planning to go with my first mod. Im thinking of a cold air intake. I want to know what is the best intake you would get for a 2004 Mini Cooper S and why. Im looking at an AFE Cold Air Intake Stage two, DDM, or Madness. Which one would you perfer out of these and why. If you have any other ones you suggest, then let me know. I also have another question about CAI; On one of the intakes, the tube is short, and in the other one the tube is wayyy longer. Why is that, sorry im such a noob. THANKS

We use the DDMworks Intake. Reasons why. It always fits, made of stainless steel so it won't rust like others. It's completely enclosed to keep engine heat away from the filter and build pressure in the box. And has a large foam cleanable filter. My DD MINI has one, my race car has one, my dad's car has one, and we pretty much install them 10-1 over all the other intakes.

Remember, if you are thinking of installing a upper strut brace in the future, just make sure whichever brand you choose, it will fit under a brace.

Intakes are relatively inexpensive, easy to install and easy to manufacture, so there are lot of them on the market. They can make a little power, especially combined with other modifications like the pulley, but don't get too hyped by all the chatter. As Way said, choose one that fits and will last. Of the ones you mentioned, I agree that the DDM is nice.

I just got the DDM CAI. Sounds like a 300 lb asmatic kid sucking on an inhaler. Weeeeee factor way up. I definately noticed the jump in throttle response, engineering is spot on, competitively priced with other CAI on the market, install was too easy. It even sounds like a turbo wastegate if you modulate on&off throttle real quick like.

I run the AFE with the dry filter. It is CARB legal, so you won't have to swap back to stock when its time for smog.

Great responce. That's the same thing we get from all our customers that get the DDM Intake and why we keep selling them.
