Knowing Jan, I'm SURE you can somehow convince him to make a trip to Hawaii . I know it's probably hard, but try and find a couple more MINI's on Maui that want a tune, and he'd be there.

Jan, we have a place on Maui, maybe you could stay there...
Wife would be up for that!

Boy, what a business write off.....lol.

I can see the conversation now....

IRS: Sir, it seems you claimed 3 weeks of expenses as a business expense while on a Hawaiian island!

Jan: Yep, sure did, was doing some tuning work.

IRS: But for 3 weeks?

Jan: Dude, have you ever seen the programming??

IRS: Just how many cars did you tune?

Jan: Oh, just one.

IRS: Exactly what kind of car was it?

Jan: A mini Cooper.

IRS: Ahhhhh, that explains it. I understand. Deduction accepted.

Does the term "RMW tune" only refer to ECU programming?
As i understand it, I could get increased power from my car without additional hardware?
How much hp/tq are these "tunes"good for? MCS with %16. pulley + lightweight crank pulley.

I would say this in "general".

The HP/TQ you get from mods like pulleys for example would be roughly equivalent to what you would get from an RMW tune... ballpark'ish.

Having said that, you can't do both and come up with a combined value of the two.

If you yielded 20 whp from parts or 20 whp from a tune, I'd suspect you'd only get 30whp from doing both....

Ignore my numbers, I'm just trying to make a point it's not accumulative.

I'm sure someone else will chime in and explain it better.

Mark

Tune only on R53 is usually 15-20 HP and 10+ tq. Plus a lot better throttle response and better power delivery.
