Adding a head to a daily driver =worth it??
I have now done a bunch of mods on my 06S -NS1 cam, mynes header,Borla exhaust, pulley etc.- Since I am using it as a daily driver will a BVH make a big difference??- Since I will not be tracking I am looking for more low mid power- any thoughts would be appreciated
Also any rec.on who makes the best BVH- thanks in advance- gary

You might consider getting a tune before an aftermarket head. The cost is significantly less and customers have reported improvements in throttle response, smoothness, and HP.
Since you have already worked with Mynes, you should call them since they and Revolution MINI Works are two of the most experienced tuners of R53s.

in some cases going to bigger valves reduces air velocity and swirling at low RPM but allows for more flow when the rpm's increase. One of the companies that does mini heads had a ported and polished standard valve head that they claimed increased power and mpg yet did not detract from low rpm operating. Honestly though a head usually wont help with low end. What do you consider 'low end' power?

I also have aThumper head with standard sized valves, and got some great gains through out the whole rpm range, in particular low to mid range.
Thumper heads are the the best value heads on the market and unlike other well known mini heads there have never been any reliability issues as Mike really knows his stuff.
However to get the most out of any head a tune is a must

For a no track days, Daily Driver....No.
If there was the occasional enthusiastic drive or mountain runs..for sure.
But a daily driver to trudge across suburbia along freeways in heavy traffic. Nah! Don't do it, it's not worth it, save it for the now flattened real estate market.

It is my daily driver, I don't track or race it, but the head makes it a hell of alot more fun to drive.
If you can afford to do it go for it

I think pretty much if you are an enthusiast who appreciates more torque, adding a head along with anything else to reduce restrictions will be helpful for a daily driver. I still have a standard head but my engine has been rebuilt, bored out, forged pistons, etc.. and along with my header, pulley, and tune, I'm over 250hp.
The problem I have is trying not to spin my wheels everytime I take off. I'm more worried about my clutch than anything else when I'm in stop and go traffic since I've already replaced my performance clutch twice this year.
