You get one very angry Mini...the sound is incredible! The exhaust note is just perfect...not at all obnoxious.

Pics and vid to follow...

How is the sound inside the cabin? Cause the Alta has the worst freakin drone. If the rear seats are down its nearly unbarable. And for get about it if you have a passanger in the back. You can't even carry on a converstation.

From what I noticed, there's no drone below 80mph. Cabin noise starts to get loud after you exceed 80mph...even then its not bad at all.

Yeah, those tips, either you love them or not...doesn't seem to be an in between. I for one, love them. lol.
Also, anyone even thinking twice about the DOS intake...DON'T! So worth it. Clint over at DOS is top notch!

Nice setup. The tips remind me of the Supersprint DTM-look tips I have on my R53.

Keep an eye on the plastic on your lower rear valance. If you can tweak the hangers slightly downward or scoot the tips back a tad, it will keep things from getting potentially meltey. However, the exhaust clamps look like they've been on the car for a while, suggesting that this has not been an issue.

Again, nice stuff!

Lovin the DoS intake

I can relate to the original post. I installed the DoS intake and Stratmosphere exhaust in the same week and am loving the new sounds from the MINI! Its like driving a different car.

Thanks Clint!

The tips don't get too hot, not like the oem tips. Actually, the exhaust has been on for about 3wks now...those clamps look terrible already! Installer must have used some garbage.

Happy holidays to everyone...

This is totally unrelated but where/how did you get your wheels painted that flat black?

The question that you posted as the title of this thread I wanted to answer a klondike bar but, I went ahead and looked. Sounds good an exhaust on a MINI S just make its sound mean and like a real car.

I had them powder coated a black mini texture finish...kinda matches the wheel arches. Looks real nice in person.
