My VW mechanic has worked on my cars for over 20 years and I would not take my VW anywhere else and his shop is in the backyard. Oh, and I am one of his "cash customers" as he calls it. He does write me a hand written invoice and he has kept all of those copies on every VW I have owned for over 20 years. It is all about results. I really don't care about how a business keeps it's books or if they pay taxes. That is for them to deal with. I really don't know why this keeps coming up.
We prefer soft copy and you guys prefer hard copy... we give people invoice and your guy don't... i don't know what the big deal is... Minimarks and you keep bringing up the dyno sheet... get over it already. It has nothing to do with this topic.

I thought this was about tuning? Not soft copy or hard copies. Who cares. It's about the numbers at the end of the tunes. Why dosen't someone post some numbers if you know them

Randy, people are silly like that.

It's a privacy issue... we don't post dyno graphs of others w/o their prior consent.. it's that simple

Personally I don't care about the hardcopy that is why I put FWIW in front of my post. An electronic copy saves me the hassle of scanning. I also said that we had received an invoice from "our guy". If it had nothing to do with the topic then why did you bring up the invoice.

Here yah go, http://www.taxsites.com/. Good luck.

To keep this post on topic: I have heard many good thing about RMW tunes. I think that is because they are much more vocal on NAM then Hubie though.

Just remember though, Hubie uses the "Bytetronik" software developed by Jason of Mynes Performance. This software is much more involved than the Dimsport software. The ECU is completly opened up now.

As far as I've heard. No software can totally open the ECU, if they could they should be able to raise the RPM limiter on the automatic cars. There are still limits on what someone can change.

The injectors are almost topping out. They are not at there final limit. If Jan tuned my vehicle for the injectors to give there last breathe everytime I redlined it, I would not only screw up the injectors but the internals also. But I would also be pushing close to 225whp. I would rather be at 216whp and have something reliable than something at full power. and blow an engine every 2 laps at the track.

I always want my car tuned all the way to redline... if i don't want to use it, then i won't push it that high - the control is on me, not the ECU... it's a more practical approach IMHO... whatever floats your boat, i guess

The RPM limiter for the automatic R53 is in the tranny computer, not in the ECU/DME

If it's in the tranny computer, how come when the dealer upgraded my tranny with the newer JCW program the tune went a way. Can they load one at a time or do they have to do both?

Often a tech will reflash the car just to start off with a clean slate . This is not always recorded in the work order as it can be a short cut for the tech.

And you would think the tech is assuming the car is still using the stock tune. Like you said, start off with a clean slate. After reading that one thread about the guy losing his motor, more people might want to reconsider tuning cars still under warranty

That could be true, but anybody that looks under the bonnet of my car would no it is anything but stock.

Checkers
the numbers were posted and there was a pic of a chart with dyno number, no dyno sheets. But we were asked to remove dyno numbers. Nothing to call home about though, except a stock R56 JCW had impressive numbers, 191 hp I think.

Yep OP on post #54 posted the dyno numbers for the day, I qouted it on post 59 and commented on a impressive run by a stock R56 JCW, following morning had several PMs to take Dyno figures down, so I did. I noticed a stock GP that did good too 186 or 187hp from what I recall.

That is pretty good. The best I'll ever gotten was 206 whp & 185 tq, but that was at 6625rpm's . With the auto tranny it has a habit of up shifting early. I wonder if anyone will ever find out how to raise the rpm limiter on the automatic. That would be interesting.
