My MINI is all grown up and headed to College.

For those who don't know me in 04 I bought an MCS 03 because my son was getting his drivers license and I wanted him to start w/ stick. I also wanted him to learn how to turn a wrench. Over the years we have spent a lot of time in the garage together.

Chris is now 18 and leaves for college this Monday and the Mini is going too!

I thought I would share a couple of pics -

To help ease the pain of the two going off to school, I bought a 135i

You know what is Bazaar, I went to visit a 135i board and its like a parallel universe. The 135i board has a Longboard, a JAN, a Peter (M7), a Gnaster, a Misfitoy, a Partmans, a Carbonized, ect..........

PS - the 135i is incredible but I miss the supercharger whine.

Too bad it'' heading off to higher education, but you made a smart choice yourself! My buddy just bought a 135i (which he let me drive! I now know my next car ) with the factory chip which now pulls 380hp! ENJOY!

I loved my MCS time and looking forward to spending time with the 135i. Out of the box the car is impressive w/ 300hp and 300 lbs of TQ. I've been reading up on the chip/tuner options at the 135i forums. All I can say is YUM.

Did my first 135i Mod today before my son leaves. Notice the subtle ABS splitters.

Hey Bart, Glad your son is sticking with the mini, having worked with you to build it, I'll take care of it. When my daughter went to college we gave her a mint Z28 (I worked my ..ss on that car) . In three years she managed to demolish the thing Girls...
I've been drooling over the 135i since it came out. Seen one with the carbon roof in Daytona, yummy! But then, they come up with the new Z4 and I'm going " I need a Bail out or a stimulus of some kind!!!!"

Send son to BMWCCA's Street Survival school and maybe a Car Control Clinic and an HPDE, I'd feel safer. Love the Modernist house too looks like an Eichler.

A 1-series bizarro world...now you can start all over! If you keep the mods on the DL, your wife will never know.

Good luck with the ultimate driving machine, if you need anything just let me know.

While he is a good driver, driving school is on the list. Preferably once he graduates college so he foots the bill.
