it seems to be a clone of the moss intake except that it is made of plastic, even uses the same filter, i would think it is smoother in the bore than the aluminum one and also cunduct less heat, i think its a good piece and the price, foget about it.i should of waited i got the moss a long time ago.i'm happy with that unit.
Our intake is not a clone of the Moss one - this intake is within the same design as our Miata intake with the same ABS materials you find in your factory Mini and is 100% rototmoulded and smoothed on the inside for air flow. We also provide you with all hardware and the fit (we feel) is better than the Moss one - plus it fits CVT Minis as well.
The filter is by AFE because we like their construction and have had great results with their filters for longevity and daily wear.
We have sold many since 5 weeks ago when it was posted - keep in mind that not everyone who bought one is a MCO participant.
The price is set so we can compete with other intakes - just like any company - and we stand behind our product 100% and have many happy customers with this product.
If anyone has any comments or questions, you can always call me direct at 888.551.0025 or email me at peter@rspeed.net

The Price is what it because we own the tooling to make the crosslink pipes and do not like to over charge our customers.
We alway try to put ourselves in the customers shoes when making products and services pricing decisions
But it really is a catch 22, on the one hand there are guys that will say vendor over charge for parts.
It is a miracle that so many low production items are produced considering !
Please feel free to buy one an try it, as with everything we sell we stand behind our product 100%
And give 30 money back guarantee.
At your service

The gain claim was not on the MC version, but the MCS. There is no way any intake, by itself is going to add 10% output to the MC. Expect 5-7 HP on a good day. I'm an aeronautical engineer and the only thing that could possibly hurt the RSpeed intake is the small filter area. As long as their filter can flow 6000 liters per minute, it should perform as well as the intakes costing twice as much.
To me, maybe or maybe not getting that one or two more hp isn't important. My concern is would be a loss of low end torque. But even this isn't greatly affected by the intake. This is more of a problem with high-flow exhausts and particularly headers. Maybe if we could change the effective length of the intake runners we could get some decent improvements across the board but there isn't enough to be gain to justify the development costs.
