Stock muffler rusting out v. Suggestions

The stock muffler on my 2004 MC is rusting out, with some sizable holes forming, most likely due to age/weather/salt etc. Any suggestions on what to do?

Is it cheaper to replace it with another stock Mini muffler or should I look at something aftermarket?

I don't want to replace the entire exhaust system though, I'm on a pretty tight budget

Thanks guys!

If you keep an eye in the Market here, you might find one for next to nothing. Many folks upgrade to aftermaket exhaust so the stock ones are out there taking up garage space.

You don't have a location listed, so I have no idea if this is feasable - but if there's a tuner shop near you that works on MINIs, they might have nearly new stock exhaust systems sitting around from upgrades - and they would probably also install it for you too...

Check with a custom muffler shop. They could do the one-ball mod and replace the muffler for a very decent price.

Also didn't realize that this was an MCS-only drivetrain forum. My bad haha

Even better. Muffler replacement is easy on a Cooper.
