I didn't even buy one. I took my pipe to a muffler shop and they used a pipe stretcher and made it what I needed.

5 minutes and 5 bucks.... leaves an unneccessary seam.

so stretching it left an unneccessary seam. is that a bad thing? (exhaust leak or anything like that?) or just looks bad?

thanks james, i'll look into that as well...

No, I think you misunderstood what I was saying....

If you install a reducer, you'll have two ends, right?

If you take the muffler (with attached exhaust pipe) and take it to an exhaust shop, they use a "stretcher" which basically opens the pipe from 2.25 to 2.5".

Then when you connect it to your existing exhaust, you only have that one seam instead of two from the adapter.

Nothing wrong with an adapter, I just want the least amount of seams possible.

I am throwing a P0420 code on my 09 JCW.....pretty regularly.....The sensor got more sensitive at about 08 and a half......

My OCD is having a horrible time with the CEL light that keeps coming back to haunt me........may be coming off and sold soon......Love the sound and power...hate the taunting light.....

Man, I don't get it... I've had my exhaust on my JCW for almost 20K miles and haven't had but 1 code. (which incidently was NOT O2 sensor related)

I don't understand what is different....

Hope you get it fixed, it would drive me nuts.

Ahh crap, I think late 09+ ECUs will trigger CEL with the DP...I just had to get an entirely new ECU a few weeks ago and now I'm throwing P0420 CELs =(.I enjoyed the 20k+ CEL-free miles with the DP when I had the old 07 ECU What do I do now

The trouble is that the parameters have gotten tighter with ecu revisions, everyone that's tried to trick the ecu have simply tripped additional or different faults. The only way to not set a fault is to use a catalyst material of equal or better quality than the oem.
