Same boat here except that when I went back an re-tightened everything I screwed up the connection of the DP to the Milltek. Now I have a leak (that I caused) that I have to fix. Damn!!!

I am now amoung the ranks of having installed and driven with the exhaust depot DP cel-free (only 75 miles so far). Definitly more pull, especially in the higher RPM band. Deeper tone but not much louder. The good news also is I was able to replace the lower heat shield This had me worried not placing it back on so I figured out a way to put it on. I basically cut it right down the middle, top to bottom. I then did some creative bending to get it into place and even more creative work to get the screws back in (including using the old chewed up gum in socket trick to hold a screw). It was a very tight quarters as most of you know! I also had to make a little slit for the lower air sensor. Anyways, I attached some photos for those who have this the DP on and want to try putting on the lower heat shield. I know Hector was impressed

Will this work fine with just the stock exhaust too?

It will work but you should just throw down for the cat-back at the same time! I think Exhaust Depot has the system now.

OK, I am about there on getting your Cell Free DP. What do I do about the part between your DP and my Alta Catback? Isnt their a second cat there? Do I have a local muffler shop delete it, or do you send that part of the pipe to?

Well tell me what DP you want, do you want a bolt on that hooks up to your stock midpipe, or do you want me to make you a full length 3" Dp that will be long enough to connect to your alta, choice is yours, i can make both.

My perfect Down Pipe would be Your Cell free that would replace everything up to the alta. I would love it if when I went to smog they couldn't tell. So I am not so into removing everything. I am more into making the best pos system for my car. I would also coat it for heat resistance.

If they see a full 3" system that will raise a flag with the quickness. Your best bet is to just get the bolt on downpipe that hooks up to your factory catback portion, the part that has the flex.

The DP looks pretty OEM if you dont know what your looking for.

OK Last question. I think that I will have to change my DP back to stock to smog it, thats not for 3 years anyway . So lets say I want the system from the turbo to the Alta 3 inch cat-back. Will I ba able to install that in my driveway with normal hand tools? if not can you make it so that is pos? Will that add extra cost to the system for me? when I looked at your web site and price it thats just the DP without the extra length to reach the Alta. Can you PM me or just post how much you would charge me? I am a struggling mother, I mean father, with 10 kids and I am going in for surgery next week, and my rent is due, and oh I cant think of any other excuses.........

Ya, I just ordered my Down Pipe from Hector. He is a very nice guy and he has special pricing on his web site. Hurry rush and get one before the prices go up. The only downside is it will be few weeks until it is delivered. But that is OK, I have hectors home number and I told him I will call him every night at 3:00 am to check on the status of my order

Well i have a few pending orders. Those who have not gotten there DP yet is due to my cat manufacture having a broken part on his machine.

The metalic cats are called spun cats. Its a straight piece of pipe that is spun, then you have a wheel that forms the ends. As the pipe rotates the wheel presses down on the ends giving you that nice nipple form. Well that wheel is broken. :(

I just wanted to jump back in here and report that I still have NO CEL. I am not running the lower heat shield and nothing has melted

I am going to put it on a dyno just to see what it is putting to the wheels.

Thanks Hector!

I wonder if I could have a local exhaust shop make a new lower heat shield? Hector do you think that is doable?

I cant make a full bolt on to an alta system because I never had a local come with one in asking for a DP to join to that. The only thing I can do is sell you some bends that is shapped just like the OEM flex portion etc and you can have your local shop weld that too.

hey Hector, would this fake cat be a good swap for my second cat? thereby leaving it stock looking for the Ca smognazis. Should I have it put on here, and you could send me some of the bends I would need to make it a complete system up to my Alta cat-back? Or maybe I should have it sent to you to be welded together? that may be more expensive though.
