RMW Tuned after AMVIV

After AMVIV a group of us decided to head on down to Cali and meet up with Jan and get our MINI's Tuned. That was the best decision I have made thus far with my MINI mods. After getting it on the Dyno and doing the first pull I was blown away with where I started. After a few Magical Tweaks from Jan the numbers went up! Finally it was time to put it to the real test, the Butt Dyno! So I jumped in and let 'er rip. After finally getting the tires to hook up I was thrown back in my seat and held on for the rid of my life. The power started low in the rpms and went all the way to 7200! Now I have the addiction and will not be able to stop! And I thought bolt ons were good enough, boy was I wrong.

As you can see from the Graph I started around 210/191 and went to 219/199! Now if only I would not have run out of fuel I know those numbers would have been higher. Guess I will get the bigger injectors ordered.

I am totally amazed what Jan was able to do with my car, no hype no lies just pure unadulterated power gains!!!

Thanks goes out to Jan and all those who pushed me in his direction.

Do you have any other motor mods that aren't listed in your sig?

yo smoke blower... your NEW RMW CUSTOM cam for the track........ is on it's way... shipped today

should have it Tuesday, Ken's will be there too

For the masses..... this cam is made for the track and during testing gained 11whp over the other cam up top. Expect to lose some bottom end to get the midrange to top power

this is a proprietary cam for RMW ONLY

I don't care what the dyno says! It could say that I only gained 1 HP and and no torque and I would still know that the car is WAY better than it was before! Thanks for your 2 cents!

That makes more sense... I thought you were about to tell us that you got 219 w?h?hp with just a CAI, 15% and a GRS... thanks for the update... congrats on the numbers

Nice gains on the cam. Where does the cam shift the powerband to and exactly how much power is sacrificed at the lower end? I like the power to be there from 4k-redline, don't really care too much about the lower end really..

roggen, nice numbers. Enjoy.

that cam makes power even at 1500rpms

the one you want is the proprietary RMW cam which makes power from 4k-8k

on a RMW HEAD, this cam/17%pulley, RMW meth kit , RMW Race header/exhaust put down 273.5whp and 211tq

previous best was 262whp and 208tq

Tuesday would be great for the cam. Would make life easier for 2 guys.

Don't want to stay up till 1 or 2 in the morning before Rochester.

I want a grey shirt.

The trip to Cali was a blast and Jan, well...... You know your the MAN!
The lot of us wanted to talk to Mynes at AMVIV before making a final decision. For me, I came to the conclusion that Jan had more experience and knowledge tuning the R53. I think Mynes offers some good things but I felt their experience lies with the turbo cars more than the supercharged, so off to Cali we went! There were a total of 5 of us that went to Cali to see Jan the day after AMVIV 09. Were working on getting the other Dyno sheets for you to see. All of us saw awesome gains and couldn't be happier!

Thanks JAN!!

This graph shows where I started with the following bolt ons and no tune:
17%, CAI, DFIC, Invidia Exhaust, 380's

With Jan's tune and the addition of:
RMW Head, RMW Header, RMW Cam, RMW Quiet Catback, 440's got me to where you see!

Holy crap I have to tell you guys..... the car is amazing and I can't believe its snowing in Utah.... I'd be out enjoying it constantly but its hard enough to keep the tires from spinning on dry pavement let alone on snow!

OK Jan, what about the tags for the valve cover? Surely they are worth a few more horse power...

Wow intense you've got air moving through your motor now! Nice change up!

Jan when's the release of the 'race' cam? Will you offer it up in a package with your adjustable cam gear? Thanks.

OK that's great then!

Is this cam like a schrick with kick then? When are you going to announce pricing? Thanks!

As soon as I get the bill from Newman....

We never really noticed much difference from the schrick and the basic except the Newman made much more down low. This cam we have is now more midrange to top which is perfect for the racetrack

I'm just wondering if there's a point to swap out my Ultrick and try this new profile out. I'll follow your release. Thanks Jan.
