Drivetrain Dyno run
Dyno run
I went to do a dyno run this past friday . I drove to the very nice guys in Mahopac, NY ., Driversportinc. First off, very nice bunch of guys, know what they are talking about and do their job right. I had a nice tour of their project cars and as well some of their customer cars. Place is kept clean, organized and in tip top condition. Highly recommended for any repair or custom jobs.
Going back to dyno. With All ALTA pipes, Ragazzon downpipe, Stratmoshere exhaust and K&N Drop in intake ( with gutted bottom portion of it ) , i managed to pull 172hp and 176tq on a Mustang DYNO.
I am waiting till monday , to talk with a special gentelman , and if that person will bring me good news on monday , i will be heading back to the driversport garage, to go back on dyno , and also swap in the tyrolsport intercooler and recheck my gains
I dont want to spoil the surprise just yet, what that special person will bring me, just becasue , im not 100% sure myself if he is able to pull that off. Till monday night guys

as far as the o2 sim. which way did you use? go into detail! there are like 1000 combos! long sp-nonfouler.. short one... combo of the two? =] any drilling?
anyways, i wish our mini's were stronger on the dyno... o well =[

regular non-fouler from pep boys, if you look for cat-less downpipe , i posted some photos there. it has a long shank. as far as power is concerned, i dont complain. my mini is in the stock e46 m3 category as far as acceleration. 172hp and 176 tq wheels numbers translates to about 210hp/tq after calculation about 15-17% drivetrain loss ....i dont complain at all
especially knowing the fact that this is before an intercooler upgrade and software

Having no datalogging, we can't know if overboost was induced or not.
thats why i dont want to reveal anything yet, just be patient, one more day , tomorrow afternoon ill get the definite answer. I dont want to hype people up with number and what not and then tell you , its still isnt ready yet. All i can say that he can do cars prior to end of 07 production cars meaning november of 07 and down ...mines is feb of 08 , hence the extra waiting time. And from what i seen he can make impressive numbers with tuning
Note it's a Mustang dyno, so it reads significantly lower than real life. It's still useful for deltas in terms of percentage, but only on the same Mustang dyno, as I've seen significant variation in Mustangs' numbers from shop to shop.

Anyway, tonights adventure proved to be a wrong turn at the performance tuning road, while i tried the infamous " tightening of the nuts at the wastegate " trick. Skipping that here, as you can read all about it in my other post. Now for more cake
. I just got back from being reflashed with a brand new software. So far im liking it. Power is nicely delivered, way more playful on the highway. Another words step one is complete , owners of 08 minis can get their tune ON
....Now if youll be little bit more patient, im heading back to the dyno shop ( driversportinc.) on wednesday , and ill let you guys know the numbers that reflashed added, and also with the bigger intercooler upgrade made by tyrolsport. Hang in there

The way you make it sound... more "playful..."
That doesn't sound like an awesome ECU tune everyone has been hyping. Playful is what I would call the boost tubes... or an intake... or the exhaust.
I thought the ECU was holding all of these parts back, and a truly unlocked ECU would put the PnP ECU to shame? I hope there is a noticeable difference. It'd be a shame if it came out to be just 10-15hp a little bit more torque.
