So we can expect an open source version sometime soon......right

I don't think so, my version is licensed....sorry. If you want you can get your MINI ROM and disassemble it and find out and understand how it works. Maybe you can go to Infineon's site download the processor's data sheet and instruction set manual. Then load your ROM into an disassembly program of your choice. Find out the Siemens ECU memory mapping, analyze the program and get to disassembling. After you done going through the code, maybe you would have a better understanding to ask someone to release a open source version after 2 years of work. Maybe you can ask Evotech, MTH, GIAC, Dimsport and others for an open source version as well...LOL

PRODUCT UPDATE:
We ordered a set of the "450cc" injectors from FiveO and they are "resized" injectors. This means the original size was smaller and they were modified (drilled out) to the bigger size. After closer examination of the injector holes, this is indeed the case b/c we can see the holes are not 100% identical.

So here are the Pro's and Con's on these injectors:
Pro:
- Direct plug in, no adapters needed.
- Less expensive than the Factory Bosch 550cc injectors.

Cons:
- The holes are drilled out to a bigger size; spray patterns 'unknown'.
- Minor variation are to be expected from set to set (or even from injector to injector within the same set of 4 injectors).
- Atomization is likely less favorable than the Factory 550's.

This is directly from my Bosch Supplier: "Those injectors are actually 250cc that he drills out to 450cc, the red ones are 320cc that he drills the same way; the factory spray pattern of the EV14 injectors I sold you are much better."

Here is a pic of the "450cc" "Drilled Out" Bosch injectors (4-hole pattern):

Here is a pic of the Factory 550cc Bosch Injectors (6-hole pattern) that Mynes has been using and selling:

Side-by-Side comparison between the 450cc (yellow) and the OE 550cc (Green):

These are the Bosch 550cc 6-hole injectors that we've been using on our testing. These are the EV14 connectors so we need to use an adapter to fit the EV1 on the Mini Harness. The injectors fit perfectly, and the adapters raises the profile of the connector but it still fits fine underneath the factory IC. We sell these for $300.00 shipped for the CONTI-USA.

Every car is different, that's why the factory uses "ADAPTATIONS" (learning values) to try to keep every vehicle close to operating parameters written in software. If every engine was the same, then this feature is not needed. We are working on other electronic devices for the R53 and R56 as well.

Can i still look at my multiplicative and adaptive values after your tune? what about smooth running values? Will this tune limit me when trying to diagnose my vehicle using BMWs new ISTA? Do you change how the EMS 2000 communicates with the DSC at all?
Seeing as the Mini DME has been Tromped, you should also have the capabilty to tune E46,E53,E85,e83 etc. basically anything that uses a seimens MS style DME ?

Wow! Thanks for the very concise reply Mike. I think I'll steer clear of the eBay injectors at this time.

Hey mike, you have me very interested in these 550cc injectors but would they be functional on a stock tune, without any idleing problems. Also what is the difference between the 550cc Bosch injectors you are talking about and ones inside of this link?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Bosch...mZ350184768130

Also when will your remote tune be up and running and how much?

the ones in the link are the ones that i referred to in my post... they are drilled out injectors.

Remote tuning sw should be out by Mid-April, price TBD.

Bosch 550cc: must be tuned in order for them to function properly in your MINI. Your car will have servere idling problems w/o the proper tune.

Fiveo offers 380cc yellow Bosch injectors as well.
Are these also drilled out smaller Bosch units or proper injectors?

Anybody tried these JCW alternatives???

Ivan: You're quite welcome... that's why we are here for (well, one of the main reasons).

The-Only-One: If the OE JCW are only $250, it doesn't make sense to go with the drilled out alternative. In addition, the Bosch 550cc are only $300 for the set with connectors

just my 2 cents. Cheers.

Mike you are right. If they are cheap enough, OEM is the way to go.
However I have yet to see a set of Siemens 380cc's for 250$
Who is selling these beauties a that rate?

I have one customer who's upgraded to the 550cc and he's selling his JCW 380 injectors for $250 + shipping. Send him a PM (ez1putt) and reference me, then you should be good to go

So here is a question that might already be answered. I am running the Mini Mania 380s and they have a 4 hole design. Is there a pro or con to using this design or are the duel nozzels on the JCWs better?
