I'm not trying to rain on your parade, but just wanted to make sure you realize the potential of the N54 motor, with a relatively small investment in mods.

If your brother is into it, you haven't got a chance, because he can easily run the 135 up to 450-475hp, and with rear-wheel drive and better high-speed handling.

nitrous is for people who couldn't make power the old fashioned way........

once our TVS is out later this yr you will be able to make 300whp all day long and have torque all over the place to go with it.... not just between 5000-7500rpms

He doesn't have the funds to mod his car. Besides, it's a Mini. I'm not looking for 1001 hp. Just the goods to whip the **** out of or keep up with the sub-supercar group. I mean, who doesn't want a spankin fast Mini anyways? I hear they're great on gas mileage.

Better yet, sell the MINI, take the $15K and get a used E46 M3.

The 135 just isn't as solid as the MINI and feels like any other econobox with alota power.

Go for reliable and sustainable power. NOS and Methanol are good for 2 blocks and a blown engine, whereas a well built stroker can haul and last a lifetime. For $15k that should be easy to accomplish.

Don't you guys want to hear about some hot fast Mini to inspire your own mods further down the line? I don't need a big sedan/coupe. I've driven all the 5 series and down cars. Nice, but not for me.

Upper enlisted, going to Iraq awhile. Keep the comments to yourself. I'm in the DC area. Does anyone know some good tuners on the East coast? California's a bit out of range.

Jan will be on the East coast in a few months if you can wait. Give him a call or Erik of Helix in Philly.

Wow, a guy asks about modding a mini and people tell him to sell it. lol. Obviously the OP wants his mini and just wants it to go faster.

I will admit though, setting out to beat another car could set oneself up to be dissapointed. Either way both of you have cool cars. Wait for the TVS and until then maybe work on the suspension and brakes, intake, exhaust. There is plenty to do until then

Have fun and welcome!

Why sell the MINI and get another car with more horsepower that is boring? If you beat someone with an e46 M3, no one cares, it happens everyday. But if you do it in a 300whp+ mini that's different. Any douchebag can by an M5 or a cadillac-V or whatever but someone has got to have the ***** to mod a car that can keep up or beat things not even within its range when stock. The point this guy wants to make with his mini is to surprise people, not bore them to death with what everyone else has already done. If a guy in an M3 races someone with a stock looking mini with 250whp and does not know what he has under the hood, bricks will be sh@t. Just ask littlehandegan.

I'm not hating on people with cars that are quick from stock, my friend has an e92 and that thing is ridiculous. However, picture his face when a mini passes him , or even a civic.

Manikmini, seriously? You have to be a douchebag to drive an M5 or a Cadillac-V?

Blanket statements are always wrong.

The nail has been hit on the head. I'd like to do it without go fast stickers or coffee cans either. I was dreaming up deleting the "S" badges, getting a stock Cooper bumper with a single exhaust, but what to do about that big hole in the hood..............

lol. No not saying people who drive Cadillac-V's and M5's are douchebags (I use the term loosely), the last thing I want to do here is start stereotyping. I just find it douchey to buy a car with the sole purpose to beat another car and act like you did something special. A lot of time and effort goes into researching parts to buy and the maintenance that will be required compared to buying a factory fast car and slamming your foot down.

What kind of power band are your stuperchargers putting out? 300+whp? Even across the rpm range, hi-end, low-end bias?

Ask Jan how solid the 135 is. He has one. I've driven and it truly is an awesome car.
