Also, Fern says the Puerto Rican cars are US Spec, but Im not sure about that. If they are Euro spec, that would explain why they were about to tune it using Dimsport.

Fern give us more details!
Puerto Rico is part of the US so we got stuck with the crappy MAF too.
So if we can tune them you can too.

I'm still a little confused there are no Dimsport tuners around me so that means I'm screwed and will never be able to take advantage of OBD tuning.

I think you can easily count on one hand the number of authorized dimsport tuners in the US.

Yeah, the length of time to get a proper tune for this car is ridiculous... it is our only chance of getting true power. I remember reading up on the new turbo MINI and people were praising it as a "tuner's paradise."

Urgh... the next-generation MINI is going to be out before tuning is available!

Hi guys now I have a little more time to explain everything.

I dont remember if this was read in Std or Sae. I have to find out but this are the number of each run!

1. 169 whp and 179 tq
2. 177 whp and 207 tq
3. 180 whp and 215 tq
4. 180 whp and 221 tq
5. 188 whp and 230 tq
6. 189 whp and 229 tq
7. 190 whp and 230 tq

They use a laptop computer to look at the ecu graphics and they change all the parameters, fuel, timing and boost then they upload the new file with the dimsport genius through the OBDII to the car. They do this with the engine off.

The upload take less than 5 minutes, after that they turn on the engine and run the dyno.
This is the first car they tune and they are still learning, they try to change the time of the engine but it started to have a rough idle.
They also adjust the fuel at first they where trying to tune this car as a normal engine giving it more fuel than needed then I explained the fact that we are Direct Injection and the fuel is injected atomized to the cylinder head so is more efficient and it needs less fuel.
Then they end up increasing the boost between 18 and 20 psi and the car is holding the boost a lot better but than stock but is NOT running as strong as mine, he got the same torque but 25 whp less but im still impressed if they find those 25whp the car will be around 215whp and probably 240-250 of tq.They are going to install the downpipe to see if they can get more whp.

Our cars are US Specs we got MAF, Cat and everything as you guy in the states. We drive on the left side of the car also.

ALTA PNP is my favorite so far but Dimsport with a good tuner Im sure we can get some good number

Awesome news keep up the good work and updates so all the vendors out there can see that tuning is possible through OBD.
