thats pretty interesting

Ben-Ja-Min 02-18-2009 11:00 AM

Does this mean handheld flashing devices are around the corner or just that the technology to tune the R56 has become alot easier to get hold of for tuners?

crucial_fiction 02-18-2009 11:03 AM

probably the latter

This like a K-pro for honda, you have to go with your tuner or mechanic and tune your car at the dyno.

One of the tuners here in Puerto Rico bought this computer for him, he is going to call m to tune my car at the dyno.

I have some exciting news =] well kind of for me I guess.. Chris from AMS is coming to town for a dyno day. This guy is amazing. anyways..... his wife drives a r56 so I decide to shoot him an e-mail. he said hmmmm "ill see what I can come up with"

hopefully its something good =p

He's now trying to figure out if there's room for a GT42R. :D
those guys are amazing.

woot! a tuner in Hawaii is getting this.

I wonder if dimsport got around the MAF issue?

What issue?

MotorMouth 02-25-2009 02:26 PM

US MINIs have MAFs and Europe models have no MAF. It evidently makes a difference when it comes time to tune. I'm not the expert on this but it's one of the reasons tuning the US cars is taking so long.

I wonder if it is possible to disable to MAF if you manage to hack into the ECU good enough... might take someone a little more experienced than your run-of-the-mill car tuner, though. Obviously the Cooper is capable of functioning well without it.

Maybe I'm just wishfully thinking...

On your car?

fernflex 03-03-2009 05:52 AM

Is not on my car because we want to compare the difference between my Pnp and his OBDII tuning.

They already told me a bad news, they tune a 335 and they could change the timing, fuel but NOT the psi of the turbo they were going to install a manual boost controler.

We all hope the same doesn't happend to the R56.

I hope so too.

I remember when BMS (Burger Tuning) was trying to tune the R56 and develop software for it...they had a heck of the time trying to control boost. They are wildly successful in their 335i/135i tuning, but they ended up giving up on the R56.

Bigjoeski08 03-03-2009 12:31 PM

That sucks you have shot down my hopes with no uping the boost.

fernflex 03-03-2009 12:39 PM

We all have to wait until thursday so see what happends!

Bigjoeski08 03-03-2009 03:41 PM

I'm just sick of waiting and want this to be the next big thing for the R56

tedbone72P 03-04-2009 03:24 PM

:impatient:

fernflex 03-05-2009 05:21 AM

If I see good result I will take out my pnp and tune mine right away.
