Drivetrain More HP from a bottle :)
More HP from a bottle :)
Im curious if any of you have used any if these things b4. here are our options from what i have seen.
first you can have a water/meth injection which im not sure how it works but im sure one of you do.
second you can have a co2 fmic sprayer its pretty simple how thease work but couldent you suck some co2 into your engine if you have a cold air intake?
third you could have a no2 fmic sprayer basicley the same as the co2 but sucking a lil no2 in the air intake couldent hurt.
last you could put an efi no2 fogger post mass air censor or pre fmic it would keep it cold and ad a lil no2 with out any of that retarded direct shot bs
what kind of hp gains could we c from this im curious what is the best way to go?

The intercooler sprayers just cool down the intake, whether co2 or spray.
Spraying nitrous post maf is a bad idea as you aren't metering any air change which is really what nitrous does. Bottom line on this motor with direct injection nitrous isn't a good idea. The intercooler sprayer works fine, you wont ingest any into your motor, you'll just cool off the intercooler and better cool the air.

Basically spraying nitrous on the intercooler cools down the surface and promotes heat transfer away from the hot air. It doesn't physically enter your motor that way.
yeah this is all speculation till we get a good ecu tuning software like the accessport .. hint hint Alta and if i were to ever put not in my car it would be a fogger that sprays a small amount of no2 that just cools the air and ups the o2 value in it not like a 30 direct port shot that is just dumb

I mean that i would never put a direct port shot in my car. then i mean if you spray the intercooler when you are going full speed will it give you a gain in hp from the cold air?

Direct port is a different form of nitrous- it means you inject it into each of the intake manifold primaries. A dry shot is spraying nitrous without fuel somewhere in the intake tract. And shooting nitrous on the intercooler, which is very different, will cool it down. Don't think of it as gaining horsepower, but preventing a loss of horsepower due to heatsoak (your intercooler getting really hot and becoming inefficient). You could probably gain 5-10hp after the small stock IC is heatsoaked, or just buy a larger intercooler like the one from Alta and get a similar gain.
When we can raise the boost and timing I'm all for it. Stock, not yet. You can basically run race gas timing on pump gas with the right water meth setup. Car really wakes up, I can only imagine the direct injection with all that boost and timing. Can't wait!
would it be the same with co2 as it is near the same temp
Yes as long as none of it gets sucked into your intake. That's why I use nitrous, you can't lose.
Depends where you go. Last time I got my 10lb bottle filled with nitrous it was $35. I think co2 goes for about $25. Call up some local shops to see what it is in your area.
Nitrous is generally pressurized to somewhere around 1000 or 1200psi, you can get a while out of it. Also don't spray your intercooler for too long or it may freeze and crack.
