Drivetrain Desperate HELP
Desperate HELP
Hi new member from England, where to start. I thought i was being clever buying some else's problem. I have a 2005 Cooper S 4500miles that has been converted to a single Turbo.
The main problem i have is it keeps triggering the MIL lamp and going to limp mode, it does this NOT when accelerating hard, but when you follow another car waiting to overtake so maybe 3rd Gear Light throttle holding boost about 7psi around 4000 rpm within a couple of seconds it will trigger Limp mode. Codes are P1241 P1688. I relocated the TMAP sensor before the compressor to get its air from the air filter housing, the main TMAP sensor is in the inlet manifold location. It is running NGK Iridium Plugs heat grade 9.
Please remember in the UK we have a lot of Roundabouts so the above situation happens alot.
The car appears to be running a standard ECU but has Larger injectors and a rising rate fuel pressure regulator
Any Help or pointers please.

PM this guy, trust me you will be very glad you did...He is responsible for most of the Minis in the United States that have converted to single turbo

My roommate has a single turbo conversion on an R53...it used to do almost the same thing in terms of limp mode... we took it to hubie, aka MegaMini.
Hubie is an alright guy. I spoke with about twincharge options and he had no issues answering questions, just being all out helpful without the "I don't need your business" smugness (Disclaimer: I am not targeting anyone in particular with that statement, I'm just saying.....). When I get the bread together I will call upon him again. Go ABF performance!!
He can get you on the right track homes

If you can list all the components/specifications of your conversion I am sure that I can help you get things sorted....
Feel free to contact me directly if you rather discuss in private.

Mbronsell. Hello from the UK! Who did the conversion on the car in the uk?
You should join up on www.minitorque.com and let us know how the problem works out. There are a few planning single turbo conversions.
