FYI the M7 CAI is basically a rebadged DDM CAI so don't limit yourself to just asking people about their M7, but anyone who also has a DDM CAI. I've only ever had the DDM on my car so I can't compare it to any other CAI. I've been happy but I got it mostly because I thought the majority of CAIs out there are pretty ugly and I like my engine bay looking presentable. CAIs allow the engine to breath better, but don't believe that they add significant HP. The engine seemed perhaps a bit more eager when I installed the CAI but nothing compared to installing a pulley.

why did you get rid of the alta? there are little to no hp differences between cai's. there are bling and sound differences though

I went from just 17% pully to:
Pully and K&N filter and stock box - noticed an improvement there.
Pully and Alta 2.0 with stock hose - noticed more improvement + SC sound.
Pully, Alta 2.0 and Alta Silicon hose - noticed even more improved accelleration. And I thought adding the hose would be more bling, I was wrong. They both work best - together.

So I would have to say based upon my experience they are improving HP and accelleration.

yes, i've done those, cam, exhaust, plugs, and have the rmw header on the way, yadda, yadda, yadda. what the butt dyno feels or "notices", and what the real dyno shows can be two different things though. there is some great info in this forum about what mod tends to make what hp, and bang for buck value. spending money on a cai if you want to increase hp is not a good move in my opinion. i'll leave further debate on this to the search function

oh yeah, well i was thrown out of school. having trust in your butt is great though

i'm just trying to point out that what people thought was making hp a couple of years ago has changed at the end of the day though, i'd agree that whatever floats your boat (or in this case butt) is cool.
