Not quite, I know of several people in the States who have purchased the Newman cam directly from the UK.
Here is a copy of emails from a friend who will not post them out of fear of coping a bashing from the RMW fanboys
But since I am not on the RMW christmas card list....

That sounds like a much better deal that what RMW is trying to get as he is $ 410 and yours comes out under $ 300 . Is his cam that much better than what you offer ? He says his works with both big and small valve heads equally well and he has been making some big claims horsepower wise.
Thanks for the time ,

I'm sure the Newman brothers will be real pleased with you.....

so what's your point throwing the manufacturer under the proverbial bus?

FANBOY ALERT

All I can say is posting someone's email is a little stupid on your part. I'm really sure Newman Cams is going to be real happy with this. What's your point with this? I think you've inhaled way to many fumes downunder from your unfortunate fires.

I am not a fanboy, yet.

But wow, posting those emails was WAY lame.

Just my 4 cents. Adjusted for inflation.

Am I missing something? It doesn't seem like there is anything private or secret being shared in those emails. Why would Newman be upset about them being posted?

A customer asked them "Can I buy these from you directly?". They got a response from the company saying "Yes, it will cost ____".

People are taking this too seriously.

I see the agenda. I've acknowledged it in my previous posts in this thread.

I just don't see any issue with sharing the emails....they weren't personal or secretive.

you know this is hillarious . who cares if we buy from this guy or that guy , i for one DO appreciate the info and the choice . and i seriously doubt newman cares or they would've said rmw was the u.s. vendor only . jan's price was to cover shipping and his time no doubt . not to mention he's running a freakin' business "hello" . so now the source is out and they could care less . so where to now ? anyone care?

Hidden agenda = An obvious attempt to discredit and, or damage a vendors business.

Shows no class at best and sueable at worst..

I will ask a simple question to those that continue to pursue this.. What are you trying to acheive? We all know the cams are the same and frankly most of us don't really care, Jan found the cam, tested it, it worked great with or without his stuff and marketed it. Enough said.

The questioning of vendors and challenging of their claims is a practice that was brought into acceptance on NAM by the same group calling "fanboy" and "hidden agenda" in this thread.

Do a quick search for M7 threads where Jan participated and you'll quickly find that Jan has no issue with "agendas" and challenging/questioning of vendors. ("discrediting" as you call it).

He even goes on to encourage people to question him if they ever feel the need.

People are questioning Jan's claim that it's "custom". It's no different than all the other questioning of M7 or other vendors that has gone on over the past years. It's really not a big deal...

Who made the metal for the blanks....

He found the cam as in "he found the cam". You found your keys the last time you lost them didn't you? When was the last time you found a new wax you like or you found a new girlfriend that probably wasn't a virgin....

This thread is full of FAIL and WOW.

I thought it was petty on the VW boards with the kids there - sorry to see the pettyness pervades the MINI community as well.

I've never owned a VW

I'm not sure where you got the "Asian made" either as my MINI shirts are all produced by American Apparel in LA and my VW shirts are printed on Gildan which are manufactured in Canada.

They're printed in an 8 screen screenprinting shop in Northern Ohio and designed in my home in northern Ohio. I stand behind the claim of quality. All of that info is openly shared on my site rather than hiding the origins.

My point is that anyone can say anything at anytime and you have to take it for what it is. Internet BS. You Rally made my point.

When someone accuses you of something it's a catch 22. If you defend yourself people will say "see, look at the way he's defending himself" he must be full of S. If you say nothing they say "see, he must be guilty because he's not speaking up". Your screwed either way.

If you want to find things out call the person and ask the question yourself. That's how I found Jan when I was searching for a head two years ago. If I listened to the BS I wound not have purchased from any vendors on NAM. I called and talked to people and then formed my own opinion and made a decision on who to spend my money with.

Why you as vendor like to ride the line in threads like this I don't know. But to each his own man.

Longboard

Does anybody know if the guy in the emails posted by D-man is actually in the states?

I know of at least one person who was told to go to RMW to get the cam as Newman wouldn't sell it to him.
