Drivetrain Magnaflow VS. Borla Race/Sport
>>It's well known that the magnaflow drones on the highway - does the Borla Race have this problem?
No, at highway speeds I don't have any drone. The drone on the Borla is between 2-3,000 rpm and only when you are on the throttle accelerating. Above 3,000rpm and the Borla instantly gets quiet and smooth sounding in the car. There is no drone at any speed when crusing.

>>just to followup what I said on another thread: one man's drone is another man's song... I actually keep my windows down so that I can hear the sweet sounds on my 'flow.
I would agree, I try to keep my windows down when I can and you don't get any drone ever. Just sweet exhaust note. I love playing with the clutch/throttle when downshifting into a corner to get that nice burble noise. That's my favorite.

I have heard the Borla Race and it is not too load at idle, but put a load on it at highway speed and you will hear it all too clearly. When I was young, noise did not bother me to much and I liked loud cars. I have learned that what I liked about loud cars was that I associated the noise with power and speed. I repeat, it was the association I liked, not the noise.
I am just a little older now and have come to learn that noise inceases fatigue. The quieter the car, the more refreshed you will be at the end of a long journey. I am glad to trade off a couple of hp to get a car that I drive on the street to be quiet enough that my ear drums are not being assaulted as I drive. If I were tracking it, I would go for all the power I could get and the heck with the noise (ear plugs work).
Borla street is a nice system IMHO.
