Guys common man. YOu NEVER put a flowmaster on a turbo charged car. If you want u car to sound like a domestic are are strickly into sound then yeah go ahead and do it.
ON a turbo car you ALWAYS want a straight through muffler. Flowmaster is designed to create some back pressure because on an N/A engine you want some back pressure.
Here is a quick 411 on how that chambered muffler you have there works:
Exhaust fillsin the first chamber, once the pressure builds up it pops into the second chamber, when that builds up it pops into the 3rd chamber then out the muffler. You want zero, nada, zilch backpressure in a turbo cars muffler.
Also dont confuse a turbo muffler as being for a turbo, thats just the name they gave it years ago.
OH yeah, if you have a supercharged S then yeah, you can go with a chambered muffler.

I didn't mean to butt in on the R56 forum, but there are so few R53s with straight exhausts, I have to hang out here to get the good word.
cut and weld
love the magnaflow just wanted some more noise till i can get the full 3inch turbo back from exhaust depot
and just noticed my exhaust tips sit alot lower than supposed to will have pics tomarrow

For 360 bucks though, you really cant beat the sound. It is a nice steady improvement over stock. Obviously, anyone here would go with the magnaflow or any other full exhaust, for more money. Just saying...

So, sk8erguyzach, what are you going to do about your Super 44? Exhaust Depot clearly says it's the wrong muffler for your turbo'd car. Will you replace it with a better suited muffler?
What tips are you using, btw?

Yes
ouch
Curiosty got the best of me so I went digging for the reciepts.
Midas (parts/labor) $40
40 series Muffler (via ebay/shipped) $59.95
I know you replaced the resonator with a straight piece and got a nicer tip, but ouch.
BTW, the borla I replaced it with - a cat back, cost $468.
