I know you replaced the resonator with a straight piece and got a nicer tip, but ouch.

BTW, the borla I replaced it with - a cat back, cost $468.

sound clip possibly?

mine was 350 OTD, custom 3inch catback. Others have gotten 3inch turbo back for similar prices...

its not the magnaflow Kit.

For real? Wow. Tell me more!!!
Btw, Ghosthound I LOVE your Mini. Yours was actually one of the first to inspire me to get a Mini and not a Range Rover or FJ Cruiser!!!

i have a custom turboback with no cats and one resonator with a magnaflow muffler and two 4inch tips. im not sure on the specifics of the muffler, but i do know it sounds amazing....except for 6th gear drone on the highways above 80 (not that i go over 80 that often though )

as for power gains, not much maybe 10-15hp and the same for the torque, however i do notice HUGE differences when i downshift and go around slow drivers and such. it also unlocked a lot of sound from the turbo (partnered with the ALTA CAI) it sounds AMAZING spooling up.

as for the sound, i love it with the exception of the drone in 6th gear. im dreading the drive to the dragon, may need some ear plugs. other than that, i couldnt be happier. working on some videos and whatnot. i will get a huge compliation up here when im all finished. i have gotten many many compliments on my exhaust and ive even been told it sounds like a ferrari when under heavy acceleration.
my favorite thing to do is when in traffic and about to go through an underpass i let the car in front of me get a few car lengths up there and drop gear and floor it through the tunnel/underpass. i get lots of angry looks from angry people because of it, but thats what 21 year olds are supposed to do.

here are some pictuers -

benji mini: Isn't that a little low there at the resonator? is your car lowered too? I wonder if it would sound too loud without that second resonator. Nice system, for sure!

sk8erguyzach: can't wait to hear about the change out for you from Flowmaster to a packed muffler. Weird that a turbo car needs a packed muffler, but it's the worst thing for a supercharged car...

i have thought about that too. my car is stock height (until spring probably) without that resonator i can almost guarantee going deaf. i would only contemplate removing that resonator if and when i get a cat welded in in the dp in order to get the CEL gone.

this thing is so loud i set off car alarms in second gear all the time. every time i do i cant help but smile im like a kid on Christmas morning when that happens

Easy to do with the FM. The borla does too, but the difference between the two; the borla does it with resonance vs. the FM with dB. At certain rpms, my rearview is useless.

the thing just in front of the glasspack is a resinator and it looks as tho he still has his second cat in front of the resinator

anyways

magnaflow was installed today along with some 3inch piping ~cat back~ and also removed the second cat

so now im using just one cat wich is located on the downpipe, 3inch piping starting from where the second cat was, and a magnaflow muffler

it sounds great by the way! will post pics tomarrow and take vids tommarow

ohh and i got my carbon fiber scoop installed today also and the dealer saw all my mods and was impressed on what an 18 year old can do in 3 months

so heres my list
alta boost tubes,k&n cai,3inch magnaflow cat back(one cat no resinator),joey mod, painted gas cap and trim, blue interior led, jcw shift ****,and forge bov

and my dealer said next ishould go for a piggy back ecu(remap ecu voids warrenty)piggy back doesnt

^^

impressive! Glad you like the Magnaflow... btw, its resonator

seems to me that most dealers are fairly mod friendly. I know my SA is cool with a lot of mods.

I think you should do some suspension mods since there isnt a piggyback that im aware of thats problem free. Acceleration is fun, but when you have to slow down significantly for a corner, it takes so much of the fun away. Handling>horsepower

Larger rear sway bar should be next on your list. Helps get rid of understeer, making car handle better. Lots of info in the suspension forum. Most cost around $200 and install is not bad if you have some large sockets to drop the rear subframe.

Yikes, how much did this cost?

No reducer, just welding a 3" to the existing exhaust is pretty hokey. Yet another reason I do everything myself to keep up with my high standards.
