I just got my MINI COOPER and love it. Only minor complaint, is it could use a little more juice.
Are there are ways to pep this baby up with modifications?

Thanks all for any suggestions.

well you could search..but anways

intake

Viper Pipercross Induction Kit
This kit makes the most power of the systems out there right now, 10 hp. It is a more comprehensive kit, draws more cold air, and looks great. [Enlarge]

Price: $329

Mini Mania Header with Cat
his is a very cost effective way to get the additional horsepower a header can unleash. Complete with a cat, and both O2 ports, the service engine soon light does not activate, keeping the inputs from your oxygen sensors to the ECU. Dyno tests show consistent 6 horsepower gains. [Enlarge]

Price: $750

exhaust

Helix 13 Cooper Exhaust
This is the exhaust that won the Grassroots Motorsports magazine horsepower shootout. A beautiful single 3" outlet, tig welded T-304 stainless steel, band type clamps, and a five year warranty make this exhaust a stand out in the Cooper field. This is a true cat-back system with a resonator and single muffler. Mellow but throaty sound. This one is a new competitor for my favorite. [Enlarge] [2] [3]

Price: $550

hope that was helpful

one very effective mod is to put performance specs of the new MC side by side with those of the original Cooper S. your car will suddenly feel much faster.

I would suggest establishing a budget. The number of ways available to you for 'pepping it up' will depend on how much you want to spend!

check out the things Randy has on his MINIMotorsport.com or now I guess it is Webb Motorsports.com. He is the king of MC mods and has them from cheap to steep. I have only added an intake, a PILO (it is also in the vendor section). Just a little boost to factory, but not bad for the $. Thinking about ignition, then there is always a pulley. Take your pick and have fun.

HELIX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The East Coast temple of MINI mods...a short drive to Philly will leave you a happy man.

You can easily do an intake yourself..and if your in NYC and wnat to see a modded Cooper, let me know.

I'm in Jersey...take it for a spin

You're right, I probably could do the intake myself, I'm pretty handy,
and I used to workin a car repair shop a long time ago....I was a teenage grease monkey!
