Glad that you proved me right again, so thats 2-0 to me

1 no one would want a shorty header

2 who wants a quiet exhaust system even if it makes more power.

We've being doing some back to back testing today in the real world called a dragstrip, picked up 1 mph with the quiet system.

but now that I have made it quieter why would you want the shorty?

oh.... there goes that thing called $$$$$$$$$$ again

real racers don't need quiet systems
don't need 1/4mi to know my car is faster

Danny will be running the autocross at California Speedway on Sunday in Fontana. I wish i could go, but if you can make it, it would be a great way to see what his car can do.

Couldn't wait for tomorrow, so I went to Danny's shop today. The header is beautiful as expected. The exhaust is..., well it's quiet! It's much quieter than I expected.

Jan - Put me in line for this set-up. With this set-up I will definitely be able to "speak/walk softly and carry a big stick."

I think Jerry in his RMW tuned Cooper convert took 2nd to a JCW Turbo by .4 of a sec. How does a turbo car get put in the same category as a Cooper?

No way. Unless both are modified. Then they go into street-mod with all the big boys.

Happens all the time at our BMWCCA autocrosses... I used to run my "Justacooper" in a class with highly-modded e36 M3's (placed 2nd overall for the 9 race season). Now, I put the smack down on modded MINIs in a relatively tamely modded 1987 BMW 325is (have to say, though, this is because the MINIs aren't totally spiffed up). Our BMWCCA chapter uses base points + mod points to class BMW/MINI cars - it's definitely possible to push yourself up to a class where it's tough to be competitive in our club.

So, it just depends on what sanctioning body you race with - in SCCA, even a tune would disqualify you from running a Stock class.

A full boat RMW motor, really wide Hoosiers, and extensive lighten-ing of the chassis, though might be fun in SM? Actually, I dunno, that might bump you into XP? I've lost track of all the SCCA rules, since I no longer run SCCA...

I believe just changing the pulley puts you into SM by SCCA rules. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Congrats Jan.
