Help: new SS brake lines don't fit in hanger

OK, so I decided to upgrade my rotors, pads and lines. Everything on the install is going fine until I go to put on the new lines. Every vendor has Pre 04/03 and Post 04/03 lines. I have an early '06 model (built in 12/05) bought the lines for after the style change, but they don't fit in the hanger.
The hanger has what looks roughly like a 16 point star and the new hose fitting is a circle with two edges cut off which is too big in diamiter to fit through the star shaped hole.

Anyone else encounter this problem and how did you deal with it? Please help as I need to get my car back together by monday evening.

You've got to open up the "star hole" in the bracket. I did it with a hand file, and it was a PITA.

Thanks, not what I wanted to hear, but at least now I know what needs to be done. Looks like me and the Dremel will spend some quality time under the car in the morning opening up 4 holes.
