Drivetrain Most powerful M45 car 279whp!
You guys sound like my two boys and there buddy's arguing over who's the fastest guy on a bike
.
Paul,
I truly find your idea that the only way to test and get real data on parts or engine power is to run down the 1/4 mile interesting. So far this weekend I've seen Nascar, Rolex Sports Cars, AMA Superbikes, Indy Cars, Moto GP and last weeks Formula One. I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure not one team from any of these disciplines use the strip to test their engines or parts.
But man I would pay to see any of them go down the strip
.

a few ponies is a long way from 300whp
the guys at eaton couldn't even believe we have been making 250whp all over the country..... Sean Church said 200whp on the old honda's with the M45 barely made over 200whp
It's a testament to the headwork, cam/header combo

We did have a Formula 1 car go up the strip but I cant remember what vintage it was, I think it run low 9s.
I had the good fortune that my racing partner in the 90s was the boss of the composite shop at Benetton, so we had 24hr 7 days a week access.
The funniest thing was him showing me his top secret project, a carbon fibre wishbone. I remember him having to make 6 of them for destruction test to make sure they could cope with the load etc etc, I rember saying what a waste of time that was because there's no way there going to pass
Maybe I've worded it wrongly, dyno and drag racing is proberly the easiest form of motorsport that everyone has access too, after being on a dyno you lot can pop to your nearest strip for Fri night test and tune and have a blast and make some ricers scratch there heads
My goal is still a 10 sec daily Mini that goes round corners as well
is this where everyone goes........ let's stop road racing and go dragging because that is what the MINI is for?
some day you will get it.... maybe
nahhh Its like me telling people That my big block vette is for road racing.
People fail to read history, Minis at Rallys... and vettes at lemans
what was it jan like 22mph faster than the fastest ferrari...

(I've had this year off as well)
so are you telling me you can beat me around the track?

I have beaten many guys with years of experience so you saying you have been to the track does it really mean anything?
I do the odd bit of drag racing, once so far this year, and was happy to take 3rd place at Mini Showdown. Also, not one of Paul customers
I like the drag racing for the banter, but the racing itself is a bit boring.
Gimme a track day any day of the week. Shame I don't have many more booked this year, only the end of September, October and November. Probably all in the wet too.
Car has to be able to drive me there, drive me back, let me take the GF out for dinner (or my mum), and beat that overpriced BMW or boy racer off the lights.
I think if any of the tuners made focused cars, they would loose broad appeal to many people.
Corners are where the fun is.

Still surprised he didnt get it sorted sooner. You coming to Castle Combe Paul? People have times for that track for comparison.
.This thread died the moment you wouldn't tell people how you made that power
.Oh Ya, I'm gone the rest of this week. Come get my car and tune the rest.
