Excellent vid! I love watching this stuff; you're commentary is funny, too. You were driving a much cleaner line than the 911S, and you were hitting your spots more consistently. Your Dunlops sound like my Azenis under hard cornering: loud as all hell. It looks like both tires break away gradually and communicate back to the driver well.
Oh, and I hate you for being on such an empty track!
Keep 'em coming

nice work. thanks for sharing. what are you using to overlay info on the vid? i'd like to be able to do that. that track is much different from what i run in florida! it looks like a drive through the country at speed. the only advantage of florida is that the season never ends. thanks again.

TraqStudio is the sw for doing the overlay. I use Traqmate for datalogging, a Sony HDD camcorder for video. The video + data sync was tricky the first time I used it, but now on the warm up lap I slam on the brake in the front straight and wave at the camera at the same time as cue to sync. Once I get home, I just look for these cue in data and video to sync the two.
Yep way cool video!
Good work on getting a personal lap best!
One Question for you though Pure13: Have you ever tried maintaining your grip at 9 and 3 O'clock? Once I was taught that I've never gone back to lifting unless I'm in a 180 or doing some parking lot tighty turns.

Jeremy you should make a trip down to PRI, it beats Mission by a mile... literally.
Yeah keep me informed for track days next season Pure13!
I've been pretty busy this month dealing with my premie boy and getting prepped for his homecoming. My wife is so sweet saying she'll even let me go out hunting a few times this fall; so next summer should be AOK to learn how to track my MINI!
On steering I have my seat quite forward(short legs and arms) so my shoulders stay planted even with 180 degree steering inputs. Shoulder bolsters would help out too though!
Keep the videos coming if you're tracking your MCS more this summer!

Holding onto 9 and 3 was taught to me by AutoX instructor. However track instructors taught me to keep the hands on 9 and 3 but keep hands free and lose so you can manage quick corrections. If you hold at 9/3 beyond 90* rotation you load up/stretch upper body muscles, doens't work well on track.

Good luck with your Baby.

Good work...do you happen to have an LSD as well? I noticed one on of my track days that I would absolutely obliterate my front tires...partly due to no camber plates but also partly because with my driving style I get on the gas fairly early on corner exit...thus I'll get a little spin on the inside tire heating it up and it will eventually start chunking. Hence I have stopped doing track events until I have my Quaife installed as I don't want to buy tons of tires.

Here is my setup:
- Cross Coilover(5 front, 12 rear... counted from full hard)
- Megan upper/lower rear control arms.
- H-Sport 25.5mm rear sway... on the softest setting
- 215/45/17 Dunlop Direzza Sport Star Spec... that's a mouth full
- 17x7.5 SSR Type C RS
- Cross balanced to 0.1% or 2.9lbs with my fat *** and full tank of gas.
- Camber -2.75*FR, -2.25*RR
It works for me.
LSD wasn't an option for '03 R53, so its just open diff and DSC. Quaife LSD will be installed in the off season with rest of the RMW goodness. Even without LSD, the only spot I've DSC power cut off is in exit of 3b (the hairpin left hander before the 997t blown by). My chassis is dialed-in so it is really nicely balanced for my purpose with the current power. With more power coming this off season, DSC power cut off will be a bigger issue so LSD will be in.

Ahh...ok, yea I never run with DSC on I actually have the IanC window up module that also does the Auto DSC off and I drive like that nearly all the time
My setup:
TSW Springs, stock shocks
TSW Camber Plates
H-Sport 19mm Rear sway - stiffest setting
215/45/17 Direzza Star Spec's
OEM R99 Wheels ~22lbs each!
Camber 1.3FR 1.5RR
I want to put front camber out to -2 but something in my pax side in the front has got to be bent because when the camber adjustment of the plate is maxed out I'm only getting -1.5 when the plate should allow it to max out ~ -3 or which is true with the driver side.
Again good work, I'm sure after the LSD and RMW goodies you'll really scare those Porsches...once I get to some track events I'll post vids too, sadly I don't have that cool software
my buddy has been working on a small carputer/dvr thingy for recording track days. I'll have to ping him to see where he is on the software coding (he's an old school AOL guy who's semiretired). I know he was planning on four camera inputs (like pedal box, over shoulder, fender, etc)
