Yes i would! what you are basically doing with the intercooler spray systems is purly using the N2O to cool the intake. you are loosing any effect of the air going through the cooler actualyl cooling the charge air.

in my humble opinion if you are going to spray the intercooler with anything then water is the best option. it has a very high specific heat cpaacity, is cheap and easy to spray. its also a race proven idea that works, take a look at racing trucks, air racers and WRC cars to see what i mean.

if you want to use N2O then really you should be spraying into the intake manifold and AFETR the intercooler. that way at least the intercooler is doing something.

as you say with these sprayers you only see effect while you are spraying. you my as well build a proper N2O engine! lol

just my opinion though

Chris.

Jay Leno's garage has a decent video called "E85 Demystified". It does a pretty good job of explaining what goes into E85 power. There isn't a direct link but it's in the Extras>Green section.

I'm hyped for E85 to be more widely available, it's just a pain to convert to. We also need to make it out of something other than corn.
you are totaly right Russell, you can simple run E85 abnd make more power!

if you are serious about it though its not a massive task. you will need about 30% more fuel to make the same power (chemically there is these "power" in E85 per volume than normal gas) and probably closer to 50% by the time you start to take advantage of the power improvments you get from the fuel.

so far i have not heard of any problem running E85 on Gas fuel lines/pumps. obviously its not ahd the years and years of testing like gas has but there dosen't seem to be any real problems with it.

as for the advantages, well it has an octane of over 100! also its said to run a little cooler than gas. also over here (UK) its a fair bit cheaper than gas lol

thanks

Chris.

PS. why do they use corn and not sugercane or suger beat?? surley to make alcohol you need suger and yeast. so why use corn??

Corn is used because it's more readily available where E85 is used most often. It's gonna take awhile for it to become more mainstream because of it's tendancies. It acts more like alcohol which means fuel pumps, lines, filters, injectors all have to be E85 specific. ECU's can be reprogrammed but there's gonna be a learning curve on it for awhile. But when it does, look out:

that's why my sprayer is only used as the purge for my nitrous kit...instead of wasting the nitrous by purging into the atmosphere, it sprays the intercooler

RE: E85

From the National Ethanol Vehicle Council FAQ site:

IS IT POSSIBLE TO CONVERT A VEHICLE THAT WAS DESIGNED FOR GASOLINE TO OPERATE ON E85?
Yes. However, the only kit holds EPA certification is by FlexFuel U.S. You can find more information on this kit at www.flexfuelus.com. Technically speaking, converting a vehicle that was designed to operate on unleaded gasoline only to operate on another form of fuel that does not use the FlexFuel U.S. kit is a violation of the federal law and the offender may be subject to significant penalties.

It would be cool to see what a good MINI tuner could do with a kit…
