The stroker, as I understand it, is currently made on a one-off basis, with a forged crank and strong as hell rods (they're apparently chevy big block-sized). It is the very engine that Jan has put in his drag car. It is extremely over-built...Jan has run 35 psi or something stupid through it, producing >500 whp on just turbo. In its current form, the block cost me a little more than 10k assembled. This bought me an assembled B&B block with (from first post):

"The 2.0L block is fully built, with custom crank (and repositioned crank trigger mount), custom rods, custom pistons, custom cylinder sleeves. There's a custom crank pulley, a full array of upgraded components from ARP studs to a custom Cometic gasket. The RMW head has inconel valves, an RMW camshaft, and a port-matched intake manifold (pictured below). I'll be running the new shorty header."

A stock longblock costs >6k+core alone, IIRC, so the price is ridiculously reasonable.

It is still way-overbuilt for the street. Jan is working on things to make it all even more affordable. He may chime in...

Jan might be able to comment on power... his car with the race exhaust was making >260 whp and ~230 torque last I heard. The M45 runs out of gas up top, so if a different S/C combo is used there's a lot more power to be made .

Nice power, will the car actually be able to hook up? or is it going to squeel like a stuffed pick down the track

and yes, for what you get compared to stock, it is a more then fair deal!

I bet there would be a fairly large market with the engine built in the 300hp range. that would be very streetable, and totally sick! hmmm.

it hooks up fairly well... if you go to the 1:28 thread you can watch you blow by numerous cars on the track. It was the fastest car all day
Only 3 Mini's have ever broken 1:30 at SOW and all are RMW equipped cars.

as for the 300whp ............it's on the way

jan, my wife is very beautiful and used to be a model (dont worry she's only 30 now) ... perhaps we can work something out -you keep my wife while you put my stroker together, for no cost of course, and then just send em' back to me when you're finished.

I under$$$tand
My only criteria would be, that it has to be able to handle daily driving and still maintain upper mid to upper 20's mpg if just cruising around.
