Is that the "Jesus" car with the "custom" exhaust work?

Wow some great results and how great it is that Jan came up to the Northwest!! What is the $$$ for the tune? I want to save up for next time. Has Jan ever done an 05 or 06 full JCW car? I'd be curious to see those numbers.

Nice meeting you to, and thanks again for putting this together. We had a blast! Here are my results:
Mods:
JCW 380's
15% pulley
Voltage CAI
Alta 2.5" exhaust
Alta header
GP IC
NGK plugs (BKR6)

Before:
196.7 whp/181.5 tq

After:
204.9 whp/183.5 tq

Jan commented my car wanted to make more power (best run was 206whp), but I had some leftover ECU wiring issues from the Hydra testing I was involved with.
It's hard to describe the changes in the way the car drives, but suffice to say it's . I am VERY pleased with the results, and look forward to getting these issues worked out. Some of the best mod money I have spent so far.

Good to see you got your RMW tune Clint! It looks like the event went off perfectly!

Hopefully Jan can come back to the PNW next spring sometime for my tune.

One Question on your plot: What's with the torque dip just above 6K rpm(just curious)? Good looking #'s though!

If you consider the scale that the torque curve is on, you'll see that dip is only a few ft-lbs off of a bell curve. That won't be palpable to the end user and is probably due to something like resonance (or in this case, dissonance) in the intake manifold at that particular rev range. It seems like almost every Mini has that (except mine? )

Definetly some great numbers coming out of this weekend and AFAIK, a 100% success rate at achieving

I too am avery happy camper! What a difference the RMW tune has made: much smoother and quicker engine response at all rpm and speeds, and so much more GRUNT. Thanks to Jan and the guys at SpeedFactory. As everyone who has experienced the results of the tune, the start and end data points do not accurately represent the difference in performance. I'd post my curves, but I can't figure out how.

Starting Torque = 177.7 lb-ft @ 3715 rpm
Ending Torque = 181.1 lb-ft @ 3419 rpm

Starting WHP = 185.7 hp @ 6242 rpm
Ending WHP = 196.2 hp @ 6661 rpm

My mods: 15% pulley, 380 cc injectors, DDM CAI and now, the RMW tune

Here's my Friday afternoon build...
I think I've got one of the the lowest HP numbers for an 05/06. But TQ is great, higher than some cars with much higher HP numbers. Jan tried to carry the mid-range momentum to the top end, but my car just wasn't responding.
I have to admit I was a bit disappointed at the HP number ar first, but after I went for a drive, it's all smiles. The torque gain made an immense difference.

Jan told me to try swapping my stock plugs back in to see if it could feel a better top end. He said my car might not like the new plugs.

05 MCS: Alta intake, 15% pulley, Mini Delta exhaust, JCW 380s, NGK Iridium 7's

"Numbers" is one thing but how it drives, feel and respond are what matters.
Cheers!

Project 7 - try out the JCW spark plugs - $32/set from www.ngk.com - BKR7EQUP - I've only heard and experienced good things from them while the various Iridium offerings seem to give mixed results.

I asked Jan about the plugs and he suggested the OEM JCW NGK's or the NGK iridiums. I had the JCW plugs in for my tune and made 206, asked Jan if I could change out the plugs (brought my iridiums) for a final run and he said it probably wouldn't make much of a difference. So I just left the JCW ones in.

Exhaust Leak

I checked the connector pipe to my one-ball this morning and it was leaking. The clamps came loose.
No wonder my torque was low and could have slightly more HP. I have reported this in my previous threads that it is out of alignment but never thought that it is leaking

Jan, will my numbers go up if this is fixed? Should I be re-tuned again?

Any input from members?

Same case with my car. 06 with 48k and I got 192hp and 172tq. I had a 16% pulley though instead of your 15%. I am very dissapointed but what can I do.

I think it does because of my previous experiences with leaking exhaust that is losing some power. I will start calling some mechanics tomorrow.

Looks like a small ventral leak ED955S-not too much to worry about.

Let us know what Jan and your mechanics advise you to do mmmk.

Yes but could affect A/F reading duringh the test. It is probably why Jan was confused on the erratic reading: partly because of loose spark plugs and leaking pipe

if it's after your center section..secondary 02 there will be very little difference and it won't need to be re tuned

OK but is that where the mid pipe bolts to the one ball bend/step up pipe? If so that's like 5 feet back of the O2 sensors. I would think your exhaust gas velocity wouldn't be too impaired from that tiny leak. Jan and your mechanics will help you out!
