For those that have been asking to hear the Rotrex here it is. Short bursts 1st threw 2nd then 1st threw 3rd. These are not full throttle runs and I'm shifting just a little over 6K. You can here the wheel spin a couple times through the vid.
VERY NIICE!!!
And did I hear those ext temps right?? Good job on the IC JAN!!!
It was early in the morning so ambient was pretty cool, likely in the 60s, but still....
It was a very fun ride, but I couldn't fully enjoy it (like watching the tach), 'cause of cameraman duties. I also wanted to capture his A/F gauge and other diagnostics but that will have to wait for another time.
There was not peakiness at all to the power, it was just smooth and strong.
Would the Laminova benefit you at all?
Would it have to be made for the Rotrex(different size shape etc...)?
My throttle body is in a whole new location. The laminova exit was designed to plum directly into the stock exit horn. My new TB location makes the use of the stock exit horn imposable.
Would it make a difference? Not really. While the LIC (like that ) would give more consistent temps the top mount runs about 10 degrees over ambient all the time. While hammering it the hottest I have gotten it was 130 0n a 95 degree day. As soon as you slow down and come off boost it quickly goes back to around 10 over. My IC is big so it doesn't recover as fast as stock but it doesn't matter because it never gets as hot thanks to the Rotrex.
The Rotrex uses a proprietary oil that it pumps through hoses to a front mount oil cooler keeping the unit cool. One quart of the oil cost $100

$100 bucks would be chicken feed to you guys wouldn't it
Thats is a fantastic ? Jan that sounds like a great product you have made once again. We need 1 customed for the automatics don't forget about us we like to Go FAST too.

I'm pretty sure 300 whp in an automatic would be stressing it to the point of failure. Those tranny's aren't that durable.

Sounds logical but how do we really know until some one tries . Breaking stuff is half the fun if you can afford it . I would love to see and drive a 250whp auto. If it worked I would get one to drive to work every day in .
