I don't this will work. Something needs to change. Does the linkage move toward the catalytic converter?

Does the wrap shrink some? It's on but tight. Linkage barely clears and moved at least before I stuck the metal cover on.

No, it doesn't shrink, but becomes less pliable. It also will smoke a little the first time you run the engine, but all lagging does that the first time it gets hot.

How did you move the linkage to test it? I do think it will shrink some once it heats up and molds to the turbo.

So from the stopped (closed) position which way does it move i.e., to the left or right? (looking from the front)

From the position on mine it moves toward the inlet, drivers side.

This is the position it's in at rest. It was this way when I pulled it out and rebuilt.

Before rebuild.

After rebuild.

Thanks. Just trying to figure out how much the rod moves to the right or left. That left pad is under the linkage with the wire tight. Just hope the left metal block on the linkage doesn't catch on the wire. Assume I will get a check engine light if something is wrong?

Not much, at most a half inch. The flapper is fully open in the photo.

I hope so too on the check engine light. I have to do my water pump now so I won't be able to check while driving. I suppose if it doesn't drive like it used to under acceleration than that's a clue.

Does anyone see a reason to keep the NM Titanium heat shield since I now have the wrap installed?

Esthetics. Did you install the factory shield?

Have you test driven and does the linkage appear to work under driving conditions with the wrap?

Not yet. Still putting a few more parts together before the test drive! I did install the OEM shield. I kind of like just having it on since I have a CF overlay on the valve cover.

Leave it with the factory then. I'm going to keep mine with just the factory cover.
