ordered the alta cold air intake system. took everything apart, pieces laying all over my driveway. and there is no BOV valve in the box!!!!! what do i do?? shouldnt it have come with it??!! was i supposed to order it separately/ can i get one at a local store? do i just not even bother with it and intal the intake anyway. please help me ASAP??!!!

 

an intake shouldn't include a BOV. A BOV is a seperate part that is installed on the turbo.

 

just checked ALTA's site, their R56 intake does not include a BOV, it's description however, says that it will make your stock one more audible.

 

^Exactly. IIRC, the R56 S actually has a diverter valve (recirculates the air rather than blowing it off) so the ALTA CAI does not include any type of BOV. However it does make the stock system quite a bit more audible.

 

Yup, so go ahead and install it. You don't need a BOV. You'll here the stock one with the CAI installed.
